What happened with the network and the pool? -80% Network speed

We are currently dealing with issues on the Official Pool caused by a massive spike in hashpower last night.

We're working around the clock to bring it back online with improved capacity.

Update from the devs in Slack regarding the mining pool:

"Update : Pool is back online. We will monitor it closely to ensure everything is working as it should be. We are also in the process of moving the pool on to a much faster dedicated server with a pipe that is about 10 x faster than the current pool. We will also be changing the domain name and serving the new pool via https. We'll keep you updated."

EDIT: FURTHER UPDATE

"Update : Going to be taking the pool offline, effective immediately while we migrate to the new server. Once it's all completed and has been tested we'll let you know. Apologies for the downtime once again and thanks for mining with us."

SO WHAT IS LINX?
At its core Linx is a crypto currency, like Bitcoin, which can be used as a store and transfer of wealth. We are aiming to make it one of the simplest and most enjoyable digital currencies to use by introducing novel ways of sending and receiving coins.

Linx was designed to be used as an alternative means of payment for the electronic music community, encompassing Artists, Producers, DJs, venues, radio stations, fans, etc. Of course, its use is by no means limited to this market. This is just the beginning!

We are already speaking to leading digital music stores about the future integration of Linx on their platforms. LinxPay, our retail payment model has been built from the ground up, allowing online retaliers to install LinxPay on their servers, entirely under their control.

Hi. when your pool wil work? 48 hours is and.)

From the dev in Slack:

"Pool is ready to go but we have to work on something else at the moment before we can relaunch it.  Details to follow.

Balances from the old pool haven't been paid out yet as we've been flat out on the other thing. Apologies for the delay, they will be paid in full as soon as the new pool is up and running.

Rest assured all balances and shares are safe - you can check the old pool wallet balance here :

IMPORTANT - ALL LINX MINING POOLS PLEASE READ

Apologies for the short lead time on this, but an issue arose while we were running future tests on our own new mining pool which is about to be launched.

The issue was regarding the block template and has now been rectified in an updated version of the source (v1.0.0.4), but pool owners will need to update and rebuild their wallets and also make some changes to their pool code to avoid receiving rejected blocks.

Please read on...

The Linx Dev Fee begins at block #315001.

This does not reduce the block reward for miners at all, it is a separate transaction, but you will need to reconfigure your pools to handle the new block template. Any pools that fail to update their code will start seeing rejected blocks from #315001 onwards so please ensure you have read and understood what needs to be done below.

1) UPDATE YOUR WALLET...

First you need to compile and build the latest version of the source from our repo (v1.0.0.4).

https://github.com/linX-project/linX

You can either clone and build from scratch or git pull then rebuild.

You should do this right away. There is new code in place to handle the the block template switch over automatically.
If you don't update your daemon you will start to receive rejected blocks when the dev fee kicks in.

2) UPDATE YOUR POOL SOFTWARE AND CONFIG FILES...

Please see the following repo for all the instructions you need, it's a very simple process, just a couple of changes to be made.

https://github.com/linX-project/linx-unomp-pool-settings

IMPORTANT : Do not try to make these changes BEFORE block #315001

If you try to implement these changes before you will see rejected blocks.
These changes should only be applied once the blockchain has reached block #315001

Users do not need to update their wallets, this is only a fix for the pools, but there will be new releases of the latest wallets shortly if you do wish to upgrade.

Cheers,

Team Linx

Hi Glen,

Sorry to hear you feel that way, but just for clarification, the dev fee does not affect the miners block reward or any pool fees at all.

To date, this project has been entirely self financed (this is not an ICO).

Contrary to what you've stated, we're sure that everybody holding Linx is aware of our plans, and would want to know that the project is adequately funded going forward.

Due to your response, one can only assume that you are also adverse to DASH, ZCASH etc, any of the hundreds of ICO's in crypto space, or any coin that has more than a 1% premine?

FYI Even with this dev fee, the total amount of Linx we will have received by the year 2030, including our 1% premine, will still be less than 5% of the entire supply.
