Not too late, you can try to join on the ICO. And that will give you a chance to buy the cheap coin. I can say  If you're trying to buy at the ICO price and you will get a cheap coin. Looks buying instantly through the market is too late for us. The whales are accumulating his profit through invest on ICO such as BAT, Aragon, And Gnosis. But I believe if another upcoming ico will be success caused by the whales are trying to flip his money.

But better to buy on the market rather than try to join with ICO. That gives you more guarantee.

The market is so inflated compared to what it was in late 2016, early 2017. 5-6 months has taken the great value out of all of these coins. I mean jeez, look at something like Waves just a few months ago....sub-$1. There's nothing like that floating around anymore

buy on exchange after some days or week after ico or join an ico for poor peoples with a max cap between 3BTC to 50Btc with a good project like xtrabytes who started i think with 3Btc, now after 5weeks he is on 20Millions dollars.

it takes a bit of homework to find undervalued projects with big potential. look at the top 100 coins. Research each one and pick the one that has good upside and is backed by a solid dev team.

I just picked up some ARK using this formula. If the price drops I will buy more. If the price moves up I will take some profits off the table, rinse and repeat with another project.

Eventually this is all going to crash and people will be humbled for their greed, which is why I continue to remain cautious.  With the recent rise of Xtrabytes, there's no longer any coin under $5M market cap that has tech that is so promising with an active development team that I'd want to invest, and there's only 2 or 3 coins between $5M and $15M market cap.  My research into coins in the top 100 will continue through this weekend.

I'm beginning to think recommending holding NEM at a $2B market cap was a mistake when there are alts that have a lot of the same features as NEM that have skyrocketed the past week... I myself should have rotated out of NEM and into these altcoins. NEM is a great coin with great tech but it has a huge sell wall behind it and there are other coins that are cheaper that provide similar functionality (at this point, they are all pretty much in the top 50 and have market caps above $50M except for a few)... if you're looking for pure profit, there are better choices than picking a top 5 or 10 coin. NEM could be the bitcoin replacement depending on how quickly they get Catapult/Mijin out the door though... it also depends on whether the bitcoin miners finally adapt a solution to address scalability.... segwit and shorter block times for starters. These are absolutely necessary for BTC to retain the throne.    NEM doesn't have the backing of the big money mining interests like other coins like LTC do though, which is why it has low volume and there's less "pumping" of the coin by rhinos compared to ETC, ETH, LTC, etc.

I a few weeks back started accumulating coval and xby. I am not sure now though how much milage is left. Could be a lot or could be getting tired depending on the development that really materialises. I still think block has much further to rise if they hurry up and get it functional and working nicely soonish.

There should be a thread of insta Ico scams to avoid. They manipulate the markets by just selling over and over to themselves and suck people in with fomo when they see the ever increasing caps.

If people wised up and realised this is another way of doing 100% premine then this new variation of super scam will be ended.

These projects mostly sellling dreams and roadmaps are stealing investment and funding from real projects.

I would make a real detailed thread about insta icos and keep it updated with a big explanation of how they operate but then people get tired of the same person harping on about things so hopefully someone different could create such a detailed and updated insta ico list.

although you did not ask me. i think bitbay could be something to check. i bought at 350sat.

No actually because of this price increase if you noticed all the low end coins are suddenly getting pumped , it's just now everyone is pumping some coin , all you have to do is take a small risk and buy anyone of those , as every altcoin till top 50 i suppose has a chance of getting pumped. How I cope with new reality? I ignore every new alt coin. Instead I am waiting for it to mature a bit before it could be even touched.
I know that there are some pretty darn good options to invest my money but I would rather hold BTC than try to experiment with scam coins.
After a year of development we can tell more about the project, if coin is still strong after this time, it means it has potential.

That could be said of all altcoins and it's where you separate the wheat from the chaff, 99% of altcoins spiking to dizzying heights in 2017 market exist only as empty development promises they have neither the talent or vision to achieve.  Even those established teams with longer development landing strips of say 1 - 3 years (looking @ you Augur) have failed to deliver any thing of real use.  So I would disagree with the OP topic and expect @ a future date maybe soon, maybe far there will be many,many cheap coins again.

I can count from my experience only two altcoins that hit the bullseye coupling innovation with consistent delivery, Ethereum & NEM.

There will always be cheap coins.  Just last week we quickly mined the first three days of a launch for basically nothing and sold the coins for just over $200.  Upon launch a coin is worth nothing and that is as cheap as is gets.  People cannot recognize which to jump on and which do not most of the time, but Golden Age is still filling the pockets of those that know how to read to signals.
