Bittrex has a good reputation amongst many so called OG's, but it's shady as fuck. They mostly list shit ICO's for the wash trading after thousands of Eth buyers want value for their blind investment. I say: delist Bittrex, they don't deserve the volume they got after Poloniex got technical problems.

bittrex does not comment on why, however BitShares is now #1 in volume on Poloniex
keep in mind that BitShares is a competitor of Bittrex, nothing wrong with this coin..

BitShares-Based SEC-Compliant Tokens & Exchange

Some excerpts:

John [Gotts] came away feeling that of all the global exchanges perhaps only Coinbase would not be shut down if/when the SEC decides to act.

Embracing the TXSRB and SEC rules, regulations & laws will make the Stokens Exchange (powered by the BitShares Network) the first and most legally compliant way for a company to successfully secure funding without the chance of a shutdown, lawsuit or investigation. The Stokens Exchange is the future of crypto and it will be built on the BitShares blockchain.

BitShares has always provided all the tools and utilities needed to allow users to comply with the regulations and laws that apply to them.

It looks more like Bittrex will be left with ZERO coins to trade when all is said and done, that is, if they're lucky enough not to be shut down completely. Time will tell.  Cheesy  I'm sticking with my BTS.

How can I update the windows desktop wallet (version 2.0.170915) to the latest version (2.0.171003)? Do I just have to download and launch the new one or first I need to uninstall the oldest one?

Richie and Rami of Bittrex did not reply to the message posted by Bitshares but in Bittrex it shows already that BTS (Bitshares) will be delisted by October 13. If you guys believe in Bitshares you can vote for it in Binance to be listed as they launched the 2nd session for the community coin for the month. Even if its not included in the community coin for the month, they list it anyway just like the other coins listed lately.

Many people are not happy with what Bittrex is doing because Bitshares is one of the best cryptos in the planet but why they are delisting the BTS from the Bittrex. Bitshares is generating volumes in the Bittrex but their answer is code was hacked by someone is this right or not?

BTS really was smashed by that event.
I wonder when will it recover....by breaking some levels - looks like not in closest future.

But,its crypto - anything is possible.

I've seen this many times, delisted coins usually recover very well, and actually pump alot during last days of delisting.  I predict BTS will be 6-8k by October 12! All my money in BTS!!!!

tell me please, so what's the reason that they are being deleted from Bitrex or where you can read about it?

Mum's the word from Bittrex.

With the amount of money they make every day on BTS trading, we can clearly and unreservedly rule out good business sense as a reason.

That leave's us with just two primary possibilities: 1) they've lost their minds, or 2) they are extremely threatened and have decided to strike early while they think they still have a chance.

BitShares is their primary long term competition. There's no doubt in my mind about that, and I think they have concluded that their long term livelihood is threatened seriously enough by BTS to warrant a strategy that limits as much as possible any type of support direct or indirect of BitShares, and if possible, especially if it's an indirect "side affect", that even damages its competitor's good name.

Thank you for the explanation!) Yes, and the price of bts is lowered well. Competition!

I have found a post regarding this, you may take look why BTS is being delisted from Bittrex :

https://bitsharestalk.org/index.php/topic,25060.msg311247/

Basically, we know that Bitshares itself is an exchange platform (DEX) you don't need any third party or centralized exchange to trade Bitshares. Thus it's in indirect competition with exchanges like Bittrex. Bittrex only says that, it will remove on the next 13th.

crazy day, one of dev plans to have phone call with bittrex later, still got no idea what happened, no statement, every reason so far been 100% speculation & rumors lol.

as one of the only few coins that's available for shorting, there's incentive to make up reasons - keep in mind.

there was no ICO or sold so can't be a security, pow/airdrop distribution only.

no 51% attack someone on twitter made up. its extremely resistant to such b/c need 2/3+1 witness & witness all weighted equal to resist pareto principle. dpos was also adapted by many other coins still trading on bittrex.

no ram usage issue, devs gave instructions if they set it up wrong how to reduce it to ~4gb. people also often use ssd for data if they want more.

Bittrex wasn't even top 5 exchange a month ago for bts with dex having significantly more bts volume than bittrex, timing is strangely coinciding with china closures making it matter more than usual.

You do not need BTS to use the DEX unlike most projects. Fees can be paid in tokens, e.g. open.BTC. As always don't invest more than willing to lose.

Crazy

2017-10-04 Bitshares - State of the Network - 3rd October 2017
https://steemit.com/bitshares/@steempower/bitshares-state-of-the-network-3rd-october-2017

Quote
Observation from this week
This section will highlight any observations made while analysing the data.

Bittrex has listed their intention to delist the Bitshares (BTS) token from their exchange by the 13th of October. At the moment there is no official statement as to the reason and there is a number of rumours floating around. The Bitshares Developers are in contact with Bittrex to discuss the matter. In the meantime you should take action to move your balance from their exchange to the Bitshares Decentralized Exchange (don't worry it is not hard to do, @ash has made a video of the process HERE; If you need an account you can use the banner). I will say that BTS has held its price well compared to other coins being delisted in the same batch (DAR, DRACO and BATA all down between 55-65% compared to Bitshares 24% decrease since the notice appeared) showing that buyers are in the market and i will also say beware of Fear Uncertainty and Doubt (FUD) especially in Telegram; people (trolls) are paid or have financial incentives to provoke an emotional response in times like these; some might even look at FUD as a positive indicator.. generally armies of sock puppets do not have your best interest in mind. It is worth pointing out that Bitshares is its own Exchange! The founding principles of Bitshares and its core product is the Bitshares Decentralized Exchange (DEX) and it solves a real security concern by allowing traders to maintain custody of their own funds while having the freedom to trade on chain. The DEX allows traders to trade against BTC but also other Alt coins as well as the native counterparty free smartcoins (like BitUSD, BitCNY, BitEUR, Silver, Gold and others). These Smartcoins are essentially stable currencies pegged to the price of the asset they are derived from. Each smartcoin is the result of a smart contract that during issuance of the coin locked up at least 2x the face value of the asset; collateralised in Bitshares (BTS) (Smartcoin market cap is greater than 10 Million USD). At any time you can 'settle' the smartcoins and release the underlying BTS for 100% of the face value or just trade it on the DEX for your desired currency/asset. If you want more info on Smartcoin please see HERE.

BlockchainProjects BV have announced that 'CompanyLedger' will soon be launching on the Bitshares Blockchain. CompanyLedger will list tokens that comply with Dutch law in a manner that is comfortable to investors. In cooperation with a respected Dutch law firm, a legal format has been established to make shares trade-able on the Bitshares blockchain and with the option of executing a peer-to-peer ICOs. See their announcement HERE

The Bitshares Foundation has announced a major step forward in transparency and accountability of their escrow worker service by enabling a public ledger of all operations via a plain text accounting system utilizing the 'Ledger' software. The escrow worker service facilitates the oversight/audit and payment of shareholder approved projects (worker proposals) in USD). You can get more information including steps to audit the ledger yourself HERE

@apasia.tech has announced their new Exchange business located in Thailand to launch on the Bitshares Network. The new Exchange/Gateway is looking to offer on and off ramps for Thai Baht (THB), they are also looking to launch a Smartcoin pegged to the Thai Baht (such as BitTHB) in a similar fashion to what RuDEX did with the Russian Ruble. You can find their announcement HERE. They have also announced a new API node located in Thailand to provide lower latency connection to the Bitshares network for their customers. That announcement can be found HERE

OpenLedger has integrated AirBitz into their wallet security model allowing new users to login and protect their Bitshares accounts with their mobile device and the AirBitz app!. @ash has done an initial intro video which can be found HERE

106 User Issued Assets (UIA’s) have been registered on the Bitshares blockchain this week. I think that could be a record at least it is for the time I have been tracking this data.

OpenLedger has enabled gateways to support EOS and OMG tokens to the Bitshares DEX. You can deposit, withdraw and trade these tokens directly on the Decentralized Exchange. To deposit or withdraw these tokens you will need to go to the 'Deposit/Withdraw' tab in the Bitshares wallet and select OpenLedger and your transfer service. An animated GIF of the process can be found HERE

I am proud to announce that the Bitshares State of the Network now has a Polish translation thanks to @fractalnode. Please support his efforts and share the link with your Polish friends. You can find last week translation HERE

@steempowerpics has done a great article touching on the upcoming Bitshares Stealth features. He also covers the current blinded transfers and explains the difference between the implementations. You can find the post HERE

@michalex has done a podcast with Matt Wolfe and Joe Fier of the 'Hustle and Flowchart' podcast; that if personally really enjoyed. The hour long podcast is aimed at a beginner audience but is still a great listen for seasoned pros. I really like Michael's casual and relaxed approach and informative responses to the engaged hosts. You can find the podcast HERE

@richcg has released his latest iteration of his concept for the new Bitshares.org website. RichCG has been keeping the community updated during the process and taking feedback while continuing to work on the designs. You can see the latest update HERE

Bitshares Witness 'verbaltech2' has released his monthly witness update where he provide some great statistics on his nodes as well as updates to his roadmap and hardware. It is great to see the transparency provided by @full-steem-ahead in these voluntary reports. You can find his update HERE

@virtualgrowth is doing a weekly market update and token give away; Check out his post and vote on your favourite asset HERE, if you leave you Bitshares username in the comment you may even be one of the lucky recipients of the token giveaway.

This week’s Bitshares hangout recording has been published and is available HERE

Current registered wallets/accounts within the Bitshares network is 430563; an increase of 5761 wallets/accounts since last week
