I will suggest that the best altcoin to invest in 2018 irrespective of how low the price might be now because of the bear period, they will rise back when the market recover because they have good potentials. The coins are

For me it is still worthy to invest with eth and some  other alts like waves, neo, etn, xspec and the new ins. Eth was proven to be a good long term investment. I agree that ETH is a long-term investment. So far EOS looks promising, I have personally invested in it since many announced coins that presented good tech ideas require EOS wallet. Litecoin, Ethereum
Both the coins are under the top ten cryptos in the financial market. They have gained wide acceptance in the financial market and have successfull projects behind them. Ethereum, not only just as an investment asset, can be used as a token for smart, decentralised applications. It can also be used as a platform for posting new ICOs. Ot can cross the $1500 mark by the end of 2018.
