What I believe is there will be a fall in price just after Segwit if happens but that would be for short term. After that bitcoin will grow like before or better because any of the blocksize solutions would allow bitcoin to continue growing. Growth is required for stability. A stable currency is a good store of value.
I would predict a short term with a healthy future growth until we reach the next scaling ceiling.
Specialists are predicting that next scaling ceiling with SegWit2x is gonna happen after 16 years. So we have plenty of room to think of any alternatives.
As always we have no idea how the market will react to bitcoin upgrade, I expect that there might be pretty big disturbance before as many people will panic and sell off their positions.
After a successful upgrade, we will see rapid growth, hopefully, a new stable floor will be above $3000 and price won't ever go lower than that.

If indeed you are correct then there won't be a issue in the next 16 years. But people are really uncertain in this trying times that's why most of them are worrying. But if they look at it at the outside, if the problem is solved then why worry? And the price could really push to new ceiling. Maybe $3000 or more could be attainable in the next months following Aug 1. Those people who are afraid and confuse don't really know how bitcoin price reacts to uncertainty.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I still not understand one thing: When may the price of BTC be lowest? Before Aug 1st (because of the panic selling), or after Aug 1st?
This is the real question for me to invest, because I think in a long term the price of BTC will rise! I just dont know when we can buy BTC at a lower price than today, this event is an opportunity to buy!

For me, things will develop approximately this way, if we get Segwit (due to Segwit2x) in August:

- First there will be another leg in the bubble. I think the current high prices reflect this expectation: no one wants to sell still because the opportunities, if Segwit goes through, are higher than the possible losses if it fails. I can imagine it going to a level between 4000 and 5000.
- But we should not forget that the real "black swan event" is most likely the hard fork with a possible chain split that will take place in November. So the bubble/rally could rapidly finish in a crash of epic dimensions if there are signs for a profoundizing community split that most likely will result in a chain split.

I still not understand one thing: When may the price of BTC be lowest? Before Aug 1st (because of the panic selling), or after Aug 1st?

It depends on the evolution of the "Segwit2x story" - if it's pretty sure that it will be adopted, then August 1 will have no significance and most likely you will see higher prices after the last July week. In this case, you would have to wait until October to get low prices again.

But if Segwit2x is doomed to fail (e.g. because of Craig Wrights "Segwit blocking initiative", or because a large miner gets out of the agreement in the last moment) then the lowest prices are probably achieved _around_ August 1, in the phase of maximum uncertainty (when it's not clear if UASF will get some traction, or if Bitmain will release its "Bitmaincoin" ...).

There will be a decline in bitcoin prices after segwit2x but only for a moment and then there is a rocket that has been prepared to go to the moon. I'm sure $4000 will be achieved or even maybe it could exceed that value, nobody knows for sure but I'm sure about it will come true.

Thing is, I'm pretty sure that that's what everyone's expecting by now... and Bitcoin rarely acts as expected.

If you study the forecasts of analysts, you can see that they all come true. But people do not always read analysts, but make the wrong conclusions themselves.
I think that the price of bitcoin after this event will drop and will be low 2-3 weeks. Then there will be a sharp recovery and growth
i think everyone has their own prediction about the price of bitcoin and to me i think bitcoin will not drop any more and but will remain stable tell segwet and after that it will continue increasing.
I am agree with you that now the price of bitcoin is stable and it will be till the segwit and you are right that after the segwit the price of bitcoin will starting to goes upwards. To me I hope segwit will be very lucky for us and after segwit bitcoin will be very change our life with good way.

Nobody will be able to give a correct answer for that.
Maybe the price is the lowest right now?!
Fact is at the moment nobody is really willing to buy or to sell due to uncertainty of the coming SegWit activation.
I believe as soon as SegWit is locked in, we will continue moving up again. However I've got no idea how much and for how long, as a few months later we will be confronted with the next issure of a contentious hardfork.

Most likely it will, but I want bitcoin finally turned into currency for all of its parameters. Any currency must have a circulation in the economy. I want to not only collect coins but also free to purchase goods and earn money . I hope it someday happens.

Here is some very recent positive experience for an altcoin (ABY) price change after SegWit, a week after SegWit and CSV implementation on its test net (see that cited thread for details):

In my opinion segwit had good effect to cryto currency society, because segwit is result of increasing trends of bitcoin in the market. Therefore due to segwit more opportunity will opened to the investors even other users.

So segwit will supposedly be activated this Fall right? This should mean blocks are no longer near full, transaction fees go back down to hopefully 10 cents or so, and sending bitcoin will go back to taking tens of minutes instead of hours.

What will all this do to the price?

Will this first step in scaling be the sign investors need to really start jumping in on Bitcoin? Will it be the sign the USA SEC needs to approve the Bitcoin ETF, allowing people to invest in bitcoin more easily?

Assuming bitcoin growth slows down this summer, will segwit create another boom this Fall like we've had this Spring, sending bitcoin possibly close to $10,000 by end of year?

Whatcha think?

This question is very relevant right now, since Segwit is about to get activated in just a week's time.

I would really expect the price to not move this much, perhaps a $100-200 pump tops but no further movement apart from that. It probably won't go down that much either, if it was to go down which is unlikely in my opinion.

The reason why is because we basically all know now that segwit is going to get implement it. There is very little doubt. The pump has already happened when Segwit got locked in a week ago, and the upward trend is slowing down.

Unlike the 1st August events, the segwit activation is pretty much certain and i'd be surprised if it doesn't go smoothly.

The price at the moment is above 4000 dollars I think it is being too optimistic to think that bitcoin is going to grow up to ten thousand dollars before the end of the year however segwit has liberated bitcoin somewhat and we are finally seeing a price of bitcoin more close to reality.
