Encoded in cold storage space. It will not get safer than that. Also make sure to possess a back-up. If you ensure that it stays with an airgapped pc, be prepared when the pc gets taken or crashes. So keep the seeds or secrets in writing as well.

You need to download a good wallet and keep your private keys safe offline (written in paper for example), take care about your PC or phone and clean ithem from viruses and malwares, use a strong password to access your wallet. This is basically the most needed steps.

Just use a very strong and secure wallet i would recommend block-chain because it has a lot of verification's like mobile and sms it is highly recommended and unhackable i can guaranteed that and way more trust able then downloading a wallet.

The safest way to store bitcoin is somewhere where its presence is unknown to many people or personal wallet, The wallet must have special security by using a secret password that is not easily known even only us who know the password and only we can open the wallet.

What is the safest way to keep bitcoins.
Taken dangers like hacking, losing in to account!
The safest way to keep bitcoin is in your computer itself encrypted with a password and keeping it in a secure offline computer except when conducting transactions. For someone with a little more technical knowhow creating and storing wallets on a fully offline and encrypted usb with multiple copies is the safest bet. Why not just use a paper wallet then? Unless it is not for long-term savings and to spend from then you idea is good. So you only go online during transactions and also don't forget to update your antivirus and anti malware while you at it. This will be fine as long as you keep your backups safe. The only way someone will steal from you then is by getting your backups or with a virus. Since you don't use the PC much and keep it offline a virus is not likely so therefore it is the backup locations that are at risk. Just keep them offline. Keep a private key printed out and kept in your room and another somewhere else. Then you have your digital backups but your private key printed on paper is your ultimate protection. You shouldn't need it. It is just there in case something really had happens to your files or something.

There's many way to keep you bitcoin safe. Like in the software, hardware .there's many site too. But if i asked i prefer the offline wallet or what we called Cold Storage because ita have an traits and it gain my trust too.when i start using it there# no encounter problem about having an lost bitcoin or about the hacking. It have an tight and dage securities among the others online wallet or other sogtware so im mself my safe way to keep botcoin is put it into cold storage I think that the best way to keep your bitcoins is to put it in a online wallet like blockchain or myetherwallet. Those 2 are the wallets i use myself and are pretty good. I did not have any problem with them so far and the good thing is you can cash out whenever you want.

To all those who swear by paper/hardware wallet, how can you then store and secure it? It seems to me you are solving the chance of hacking but introducing the risk of dropping it/becoming stolen in a traditional way.
People like to complicate to themselves life. Why? For me the easiest way to store bitcoins is an online wallet with 2 factor authentication. You can always restore access and it is very difficult to crack. you can also store this by making paper wallet offline.but i think paper wallet is not that safe.you can also keep them in usb or in hardware disk..

You must have a perfect storage of yours. Storage that no one can knows and has a high security on it. And you must take notes for you to remember anything that you need.

Most reliable place has always been and will be usb device. Hacking and other methods of fraud not standing still, they can get in your computer at any time if they will want, so I advise you to store all important data, including account data from your bitcoin account in your usb device.

Install your wallet at a new laptop/pc. This will give you 100% safety and only use that laptop for bitcoin only. This is a way to give hackers no chance. You can game and do other things on the other laptop you are using. I know a friend who uses this method he has never been hacked so this is actually working. One more tip use a offline wallet that gives you the private key and the files this is better because if you use a online wallet and the site gets hacked someday it will be stolen and your coins will be gone. Stay Frosty !

The safest way would be offline wallets but it is not recommended if you are always transacting from time to time and with time constraint schedule. Best you do is to double your security and do not use public computer as much as possible. Also stay away from websites that ask for your information specially your private key and other personal datas. Make backup files from isolated email address the one you don't use from any websites so you lessen the risk of it being hacked.

An electronic device may break down someday, you have to ensure that it always exists until you need Bitcoin. So, the best way is to back up your private key, do not let anyone know it by any method.

Hardware Wallet[/b] Hardware wallets are resilient to malware, and if you happen to lose the wallet you'll be able to recover the funds using a seed phrase.
If I understand correctly, the seed phrase for the ledger nano s consists of 24 words chosen from a list of 2048 words. If anyone with a ledger Nano s enters ‘my’ seed, they will gain access to my wallet. Is that correct? But the changes for that is 2048^24 = pretty slim. I keep my nano s in a fire safe safe and have distributed the seed phrase in a raid5 manner across 3 books I keep in 3 different locations. I will need 2 of the books for the entire seed phrase.

The safest way to keep bitcoins is that you must be careful of password and private keys so that you are not prone in losing your account. There is also an offline storage for bitcoin so that is also a good option. You must store it as secure as possible. You must used a secured website that has many verification and pincode to log in so that you can avoid hackers.

I would like to know too. If I am planning on buying a respectable amount of bitcoins, is it 100% recommended to create a cold storage? although I know the method and how it works getting a computer for the wallet only seems like a hassle.

Hardware wallet like trezor is very good choice for this case. Actually if we can divide our bitcoin in several wallet to make it safer and practical. Safe big amount of bitcoin in hardware wallet and small amount of bitcoin in online wallet for our daily use is also good decision.
