Why do people pray?

People communicate with God through prayer, they believe that the creator should be treated not through ordinary words, but with the help of prayer and their request will be heard.

Prayer is a spiritual sustenance, and perhaps we have many things we want, and we can not have it in our lives. Then we need to pray and give us hope and let us be mentally satisfied.

People are praying because they want to tell God what they want, God knows everything but He needs faith in able to accept prayer only those who have faith will be answered prayer.

If it is god's will... why are you trying to change god's will?

I think it depends on what you believe in. If you believe that God has a plan, you will not put your needs and wants on your prayer. Usually other people say their prayer to thank God and to forgive them for their sins. I think you can just add up you wish and let God do his plan. If he thinks that your wish is up to his plan then he will surely grant it in his plan. There's no format for prayers, prayer is your way of speaking to God. Your prayer depends on how you view God.

How do you pray to your self? You are the boss of yourself it is probobly not praying but encouraging yourself to be better of something. To take courage and be confident over something. Those who believe in someone mightier than they are or someone more sovereign pray. Prayer is something spiritual.

I think that sometimes you can ask god to change something and he can. Sometimes he can't. Maybe it's that simple but honestly I think that part of it is just to feel as if you are helping. A prayer for a loved one in need can be a relief just for yourself because you tried something at least!

Prayer is just a way to encourage oneself, it's not an assurance that you will be successful in your goals but it will motivate you to make it happen because you believe that there is someone beside you through out achieving your goal.

In the holy scripture God give us commandment to pray. Several places in the bible we were ask to pray for our nations, for kingdom of God itself, for our peace and for ourselves.
