People communicate with God through prayer, they believe that the creator should be treated not through ordinary words, but with the help of prayer and their request will be heard.

Prayer is a spiritual sustenance, and perhaps we have many things we want, and we can not have it in our lives. Then we need to pray and give us hope and let us be mentally satisfied.

You're assuming things. I pray to myself not to god. It increases my confidence and helps me do better. Praying to god? I don't really get the point of that either. Maybe it helps some people have more confidence and peace, not me. |

You're assuming things. I pray to myself not to god. It increases my confidence and helps me do better. Praying to god? I don't really get the point of that either. Maybe it helps some people have more confidence and peace, not me. Why are praying for yourself, praying is a solemn request for help or expression of thanks addressed to God based on wikipedia and you are not a God. People are praying because they want to tell God what they want, God knows everything but He needs faith in able to accept prayer only those who have faith will be answered prayer. |

By praying, you are saying...
"Hey god, I know you don't want to give me a new car, but I want it anyway"
"Screw your perfect/divine plan god, I want a new car... me me me me me me, it's all about me"
If it is god's will... why are you trying to change god's will?
Do you really think you know better than god does?
Or, are people just selfish and don't care what god has planned?
I think it depends on what you believe in. If you believe that God has a plan, you will not put your needs and wants on your prayer. Usually other people say their prayer to thank God and to forgive them for their sins. I think you can just add up you wish and let God do his plan. If he thinks that your wish is up to his plan then he will surely grant it in his plan. There's no format for prayers, prayer is your way of speaking to God. Your prayer depends on how you view God. |

You are the boss of yourself it is probobly not praying but encouraging yourself to be better of something. To take courage and be confident over something. Those who believe in someone mightier than they are or someone more sovereign pray. Prayer is something spiritual. |

I think that sometimes you can ask god to change something and he can. Sometimes he can't. Maybe it's that simple but honestly I think that part of it is just to feel as if you are helping. A prayer for a loved one in need can be a relief just for yourself because you tried something at least!

People tend to believe in power and they also tend to ask for some stuff from powerful creatures. For that reason, many of the people are asking for cars, houses, better health from nonexistend god. Praying is an instinct to compensate our pains and desires.

People pray because there are things they cannot do. That's when they need someone or something out there or up there that might be of help. Things beyond human power are attributed to the gods. Praying is the way to send their pleadings to them.

In the holy scripture God give us commandment to pray. Several places in the bible we were ask to pray for our nations, for kingdom of God itself, for our peace and for ourselves. Prayer create this understand in us that without God we can not do anything of ourselves. Prayer is good and it most be directed to him that ask us to pray.
