It is a good idea to present bitcoin as a weeding gift but provided that the receiver is knowledgeable in the activities of bitcoin. because there is no sense in sending bitcoin to someone who has nothing to do with bitcoin. If I have the opportunity of presenting it as a wedding gift I would honorably do so.

It is not practical. In my hometown, very few people know about Bitcoin. So even if I give BTC as a gift, the couple is not likely to use it. Either they will give it to someone for free, or they will throw it away.

If my friend gets married, I will not give a bit of bitcoin I have because a little bit for me is very useful and maybe I will give some money to give a honeymoon gift to them and if my friend ask how I can give such a gift and I will reply This. From where I get my answer from bitcoin if you are interested, I will know how it works

Nah. Most people are too blinkered to value it so they'd probably use the paper wallet to light the wedding cake candles. I'm not into completely squandering money.

For me if you will give them bitcoin as a gift I do not think that they will throw it from away because nowadays many people has know about bitcoin .I think they accept bitcoin with very pleasure, and so then if they don't accept it ,you need to tell them about the power of bitcoin now and then they know its power I hope they will accept it. |

No sorry for that but my bitcoin is precious to me. I will give a good amount of money or maybe getting them a trip for honeymoon. And when they asked where I got my money there I would say about the bitcoin. Maybe I could encourage them to try it. If I would give bitcoin as a gift and they do not know anything about bitcoin, perhaps they will not much appreciate it.
Right? To Hell with all that sharing bullshit, I bled for these coins.  They are getting a toaster like everyone else, LOL. But seriously, let's face it people: bitcoin is money. If you give someone money at a wedding, like many people do everyday, the newlywed couple will most likely spend it on important stuff like good, bills, and drugs. If this was gold bars, it would get sold. If it was a stack of fiat, it would be spent. What I'm trying to say is, if you give people value, since most of us are behind a bit it gets spent. The fact that it's bitcoin is just an inconvenience at this point; now they have to find an ATM or register on an exchange. And take a loss.  Give toasters, not bitcoin. |

Gave 1btc Casascius coins as christmas gifts at during christmas 2011. Most of them sold it in the first jump in early 2012. Did a total of 14 and only 2 kept them. They are still holding.

It was still worth it. Even if you managed to get that 7% interested in Bitcoin it was a great achievement. I'm sure those holders are now happy and telling people how you gave them an opportunity to earn a lot of money, by essentially doing nothing, just not selling. |

Bitcoin is more a gift for ppl who don't use it and you want to motivate to participate.
I would not give it as a gift for that reason, however If it's a couple that prefers money and which I know well.
I would see myself giving them some Bitcoin.

Bitcoin is very expensive now so not willing to give such an expensive gift to anyone as bitcoin is also an investment for me so won't just give away my investment to someone else and will prefer to gift something else which is less expensive.  |

I am thinking about giving physical Bitcoins as a wedding gift to my cousin, who is going to get married in December 2017. He used to be a Bitcoiner until a few years back, although he is no longer interested in them. Perhaps this gift will rekindle his interest in BTC.

I don't give bitcoin as wedding gift atleast for me wedding gift has to be physically visible and also there should be some meaning for gift. But in other side i would love to receive bitcoin as a gift .

Bitcoin is good for keep holding it in a long term process. And it is good for a couple that are still at the beginning of their journey. It is good for their future especially for their future childrens. And Im sure this so useful for them as couple, especially when that couple are familiar or already encounter bitcoin they possible used it for investment, for trading or for gambling.
