There was a lot of fuss regarding Quarkcoin in the last few days. Now, it's dropping. What do you think? Is that it for QRK? Or will it continue to grow?

Finally I can make a god damn post. Anyways, I think alt coins are a great thing! I see a lot of potential in alt coins like CasinoCoin, but sadly the devs abandoned it. Someone needs to pick it up and take control like what some guys did to WorldCoin. They were pretty successful too. I would be willing to help, but idk how the hell one would take an abandoned cryptocurrency and just take over to bring it to its full potential.
And what potential did those two copycats have?

There is a lot of activism about quark indeed but i haven't heard anyone stressing any interesting points about that alt. So i guess it's only hype and noise after all.

Great to be on the forums. If I am not mistaken, Quark is one of the most secure cryptocoins out there. Also... name. SarTrek ftw I will definitely investigate this further.

Thanks for the warning... I will keep to BTC because it's way more stable than Alt-Coins.

That's exactly what i mean by saying hype and noise. Quark secure... blah blah... Trekkies... blah blah quark quark... PS. Star trek is cool but it takes a little bit more than a con for an alt to establish per se.

And how about the 100 times more significant advantages over gold?

thinking about starting a coin that is the complete opposite of bitcoin, identity coin, where you prove your identity every time you pay...it could work in tandem with bitcoin

So for everyone to be able to see every transaction that you 've ever made. Sounds like a nice idea.

it would be good for merchants to use to vet buyers and buyers to vet merchants....the problem being it wouldn't be anonymous...that's where bitcoin or some other currency would come in

Hi all,
I am finally getting into crypto-currencies in any depth, though I've know about them since the DigiCash days when I hung out on the old cypherpunks mailing list. I've quickly concluded I've missed the boat on mining bitcoins but may buy one as an novelty investment. I'm going look into mining litecoins and peercoins. What are some other alt-coins that look promising? I've seen mentions of namecoin and primecoin but haven't researched them yet. What are their special strengths?
