Hi guys, new poster. I've been recently mining both DGC & BBQ (as they had highest value according to http://dustcoin.com/ , currently debating if I should cash these back into litecoins as that is what I was originally mining, but then realised I'd probably get more mining the others then converting. Pros & Cons of both...

Started with LTC since i like the alternative scrypt mining? Looking at investing in some mining equipment. Also looked into some coins with thrustworthy names such as worldcoin and goldcoin Hope i can learn some more on this forum.
Anybody some suggestions?

I came here for doge. Doge will destroy us all but I cannot resist them. I suppose that's why purgatory was made.

Also started using Cryptsy with small amounts to get some exchange experience. It seems to me they have some annoying delays built into their system. Combined with some heavy load this could be a disadvantage for them. Anybody else with the same experience?

Yeah sexcoin is going through the roof! Being listed on coinmarketcap definitely helps push the price up but what other factors are at work here?

Agreed, a good coin needs, great developers, dedicated miners, and a large community of followers and users, not enough new coins are pushing to have their coins used by websites, nor by offline shops.
The right strategies will make or break coins long term survival.
For instance, if a new coin can create a good website, or persuade a current website to use their coin, and only accept their coin, then that will create a constant supply of buyers for that coin.
Offline a coin community could persuade a few local shops and businesses to accept their coin, this would make it more appealing for people to buy and use, or hold as an investment long term..
I like the way you think. Just #Makes$ense

I think that most popular c-currencies prises will soon be much better balanced. Bitcoin is popular and good, but sure there will be severeal actively-use currencies.

I wouldn't spend too much time on new cryptos, but don't mind to give them a go and mine a few.
Actually I think most growth is in alt-coins although they are even more volatile I think only a few good ones will survive and potentially even replace bitcoin as they offer some important improvements (bloated blockchain, transaction confirmation time, scrypt etcetera). I mean, there were social networks before facebook... I personally believe that it I physically and economically unfeasible without alt currencies because there are only 21 mill BTC even with 10 decimals we can do even smaller transactions in alt currencies because not everyone has dollars/ euros/ pounds to invest. Some a re investing Baht, Tanzanian Schillings and even Indonesian or Vietnamese currencies, etc. How can you want to make a transaction so close to actual high valued fiat currencies and not want to save your fractions of pennies/ eurocents/ pence when they are valuable in otherparts of the world. BTC will be the Virtual unofficial Digital US Dollar (currencies of international trade) nd Alt currencies will become the future of microtransactions (i.e. the rest of the worlds transactions)...... Food for thought... thought I would try to improve level of talk to bump up some seniority levels.... Let me know what y'all think.

You got it right, dude. Only a few coins will stand the test of the time.
I believe the more support the CC community gives to all currencies both scrypt and SHA-256e the longer they will exist and the more valuable they will become. Especially if we completely mine out an already existing currency. Plus the more exchanges that support them the better they will preform. The more money and CC we invest in the system the less of a chance they will fail and the more they will be accepted on a global scale. Who knows maybe you'll be able to buy gas a the station will an Credit card, cash and Zeta coin combination

Good point CryptoTramp, I completely forgot about max amount of BTC coins. According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gross_world_product Gross World Product was over 70 trillion US dollars back in 2012. If the whole world was going to switch over to BTC one day, then each Bitcoin would cost more than $3,000,000. This sounds insane And as you mentioned - every penny counts in fiat money. So it seems that BTC cannot survive without alt-coins. I have to look at some of them closer
