The fact that QRK is pre mined isn't a good thing.

Would anyone be so kind as to help explain what coinchoose.com is doing to report on stuff like 144,380.09% % Profitability of BTC for things? I just can't seem to make much sense of how they come to that conclusion in comparison to coinwarz.com reports, they are very different

Hi,
new to this forum, and to the crypto currency-world in general. I've been browsing around, trying to find an answer to this, feel free to tell me off if I haven't looked hard enough, being a newbie and all ^^
So, all these giveaways and easy to get altcoins that are posted on this forum, what do I have to do to retrieve correct addresses to apply for the hand outs?
Is it necessary to download software for each coin, to get a wallet address, or is there some service out there able to generate different wallets on one account?
I've been looking at some of the altcoin giveaways, and it seems tempting, of course, with these freebies. But it seems very tedious and dangerous to download software for each different currency. So far I could only see .exe files as well, with no online wallet alternatives.
So.. just wondering if there is some service that I don't know of, with online wallets for a bunch of currencies, or if the idea is to download software for each new currency?
Cryptsy.com have alot of different coins, If you create an account there you can store all your coins there. Just go to balances and click the actions-button next to the coin of your choice and select Deposit and generate an address then use that address to deposit into your cryptsy account in that currency. You can set up two factor authentication to make your account secure

Expect delays on the exchanges, and long outages (coinex.pw) with no heads up, and other totally unprofessional support and technical implementations. I'm not cynical or anything

Hi, I just setup a p2pool miner QRK. http://www.quarkpool.net:8372If you wouldn't mind hitting the server with the QRK CPUMiner to test that its reachable and paying out, you see your miner and see a 1% fee? Willing to assist in debugging your setup further if can get some testing done. Just send a PM with your QRK payment address used for the mine. This is a single server at my house and it's using p2pool. There is not much information on the internet on how to get it setup... hit a couple snags. Running ubuntu server 64... have to get a bunch of dependencies DL Most of the work is just like a BTC p2pool setup Get the source here: https://github.com/Neisklar/p2pool-quarkcoin/Then patch with this or will get errors: https://github.com/Neisklar/quarkcoin-hash-pythongit clone this and run python setup.py install Run the cpuminer for quark with -a quark as well ;> otherwise with scrypt it will appear to function - but not mine a thing ;> https://github.com/uncle-bob/quarkcoin-cpuminer-d So where is the best file source location for pool mining QRK? I assume Minerd is trusted.
How you did it ? I have problems with starting ./run_p2pool.py --net quarkcoin 2013-12-13 18:49:00.592209 Testing bitcoind RPC connection to 'http://127.0.0.1:11972/' with username 'danmirbit'... 2013-12-13 18:49:00.593620 > Error while checking Bitcoin connection: 2013-12-13 18:49:00.593763 > Traceback (most recent call last): 2013-12-13 18:49:00.593857 > Failure: twisted.internet.error.ConnectionRefusedError: Connection was refused by other side: 111: Connection refused. 2013-12-13 18:49:01.595776 > Error while checking Bitcoin connection: 2013-12-13 18:49:01.596044 > Traceback (most recent call last): 2013-12-13 18:49:01.596199 > Failure: twisted.internet.error.ConnectionRefusedError: Connection was refused by other side: 111: Connection refused. 2013-12-13 18:49:02.597413 > Error while checking Bitcoin connection: 2013-12-13 18:49:02.597504 > Traceback (most recent call last): 2013-12-13 18:49:02.597539 > Failure: twisted.internet.error.ConnectionRefusedError: Connection was refused by other side: 111: Connection refused. Hey All, We have an alt-currency that was made specifically to disrupt the failing Hollywood and Television pricing system. Its called Sollars and Sense #SmartMoney. You can check out what we are doing here: https://angel.co/sollywood-tvWe are at the prototype stage and trying to take the platform to the next level. I'm currently working on my proposal to this community. My plan is a formal introduce of the project to see if developers are interested in taking it to the next level. There will be rewards and bounties that can include both traditional equity and or future return in our currency. I've got some alternative funding ideas that include a BitCoin Talk fundraiser/KickStarter ect to get initial development towards a Private Beta on its way. Let me know what you all think. Digital currency is at a very exciting stage. The beginning! So much is possible, its mind boggling...

Don't bother mining QRK any more, most of them are already mined and the reward is down to nearly negligible.
You can use it as a good trading medium though; I think it's tending to go up relative to the value of most altcoins.

Even if it goes up, is there any real reason for that? There are way to many concerns around quark It's community though did a very well job in promoting it.

I think it's always a good choice to have your feet in some alt coins. Why not. When some alt is easy to mine, take a few hours/days to mine it, store it safely and maybe the price goes somewhere. I also had the luck with some alt coins in the past (LTC and PPC for example which I got into pretty early) Right now I'm looking to get my hands onto some new alt coins.
