bitcoin/litecoin is like yahoocoin/aolcoin with huge followers in the beginning.

googlecoin is extremely tech savvy.

microsoftcoin has deep pocket.

So i need to post something in the newbie section to get cleared.  What is everyone's thoughts on EarthCoin?  I think its a good coin.  Except i had a wallet at instant-wallet.com with 984k EAC in it and now the site is just gone.  Any information anyone???  Soon to be messaging the dev when this site will allow me too.  The link to that wallet website was on earthcoin's main page so they were supporting it.  What to do?

Could be a scam. There's no real recourse available if so. You should use an offline wallet whenever possible.

I'm a fan of POS coins like Peercoin and Nxt, because I don't see how Bitcoin can be sustainable without major changes that will divide their community and fork their blockchain.  They waste power in the name of fair distribution, but mining doesn't strike me as a particularly fair way to distribute coins.  I'm fine with early adopters getting rewarded even if it's done via an IPO.  Am I missing something here?  Is Bitcoin sustainable?

Are there any other coins I should check out?

I know about emunie, but don't like how they try to control price among other things.  Volatility may bother some people, but I think it's generally pretty healthy with virtual currencies still coming into acceptance.

I certainly hope so! I mined it for awhile and now I see that they have over 3000 signatures on their petition to be included on Cryptsy's exchange (which apparently was asked by Cryptsy in order to have them included on their exchange). And I saw this semi-exchange here: https://0daycoins.com/ that you can buy and sell as well now... Last price I saw was approx 10$ for 100K coinye's

QBT https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=411065.0 looks fine. It has real difference comparing to other coins. But the coin still does not have good logo, site and forum. So in my opinion it is time for developers to set a reward for logo and site.
