I have mixed feelings about alts. Personally, I believe that the vast majority of them are going to die down in the next few months. But some of them, such as Ethereum, Stellar Lumens, Litecoin, and Monero has great potential for future growth.

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

I also believe that many of them are going to die. And they should die if they don't give anything and don't have any real world usage.
Maybe their mission is making this economy mature.

I think that everything depends on the people believes and the major investors which are earing Milliards of $ every single day. If these people say that everything is going down, and people are going to believe that, so this is what is going to happen with the whole market.  But if we are united and believe and Altcoins, Bitcoin, ideas, technologies and more, so these are going to be our future.

The same question was asked when bitcoin was new. We now know the answer to that. The same can be said about altcoins. But not all alt-coins will have the same future as bitcoin. If it is just a copy paste of bitcoins code, then it will be trash. If it does not offer something new or any added value, it will be trash. But if it has a unique characteristic that can be valuable, then I say that coin have a future.

Very well said. It depends to the quality and uniqueness of the altcoin. Altcoins have a future if that coin have a potential to grow like a bitcoin.

Good day, in fact the market has a very promising future for the crypto currency because they create a lot of projects on their basis that offer new solutions for our society and today the level of investment in crypto currency is very high, which indicates their demand and rapid growth in the near future

I believe Bitcoin has a future in long term. It proved itself in the past years and it is getting widely popular. It just has a transaction fee problem atm.

What about the altcoins? Who does use them for real? Will people use them in the future for real purpose?

I only have a hope for ethereum and litecoin, but not for the rest. I am not even sure for eth and ltc.

If bitcoin solves the reansaction fee and time problem, I doubt eth and ltc even have a future.

With the time when cryptocurrencies will be much more popular we will see only some powerful cryptocurrencies on the market. Other currencies will stay on marginalized level of the future market.

Not all altcoins have a future but few of them does. In my opinion, it will greatly depend on its application and necessity to the consumer and producer. If users find it way easier and safer than using fiat money then that altcoin has a future of becoming successful

This is such an interesting thread.

It is crazy to see how much things have changed from last year July.
I'm happy that the crypto market is growing and maturing.

At this point, does any doubt altcoins future?
To me, altcoins are the future.

I love bitcoin, but there has not been any successful updates to it.
All of the millions of forks have been contested, unwanted, or flat out bad.
So the tech is now 6, 7 years old?
Imagine having a phone or computer that is 7 years old?
In the tech world, that is ancient.

I am hoping for a future where eth or neo is widely used for businesses to cut out middle men and and increase efficiency.
I am hoping for a future where blockchain 3.0 or dag or whatever you want to call it is as widely used as visa/mastercard.

And I am hoping for a future where we finally find out what happened to Satoshi Nakamoto.

Yes, altcoins definitely have a future. I like the analogy with the obsolescence of computer technology.  Smiley  I think the new technologies that are laid in altcoins will undoubtedly attract people, because bitcoin can not offer anything new.

I think that it makes sense, because now is a very good time in the field of crypto, based on market analysis over the past year, you can expect good X's from altcoins.

Every crypto currency has its own future if there advocacy will be successful but it will not as successful as bitcoin does. Altcoin has different value which will differ also the value of bitcoin. I believed also in the future some altcoins will be have a good value as time passes by and difenetly bitcoin will also have a good and profitable value.
