Yes we automatically detect new ranks. We had no issue 2nd airdrop about rank updates. Also you need to increase rank before 24 hours the payment day.

Yes, but the more concerning issue is that my wallet seems legit but it will not connect  to other nodes

Sorry if this is a dumb question but how long did you wait for your wallet to syc? Mine takes up to 5 minutes to connect and start counting blocks. I updated the conf file and thought I had issues too, but after a while it connected and no dramas since.

I really am glad to hear that the deleting of posts policy has changed, I am much more in support of the project now that I understand the devs are not trying to prevent people from getting these deep onions and in fact wants the entire community to take a swing at filling their onion-bag with these sweet sweet onions.

Thanks, I just did its quite an exciting project. I like that the distribution is quite fair even for junior members. I thought it would be a lot less, seeing 0.8 factor is very fair.

People see sometimes small Tor button on and off. When it is off it means your IP is 127.0.0.1 (local) in peer network
no one will ever know your IP  it is not real off, it may just change the onion address you are always on the tor network it is the only one we connect. Some people's network not very stable, so onion address is on and off.
