Bud, NYC has been in use for 4 years. AND NO FEES EVER! There have been numerous forks, numerous wallets used and a variety of pool operators playing with the network throughout the years. If fees are ever encountered, CHARLIE KARTCHNER at The New York Coin Center will personally reimburse. Consumers and businesses will NOT ENCOUNTER FEES. But if they did, then those fees reprised*** (***if ever to occur) will be refunded immediately. Just send txid/hash to nycoinfoundation@gmail.com.

Not to add any fuel to this fire but anyone can review the GITHUB source and see that their have been fees in place from the beginning. From early 2015 until now, I've personally seen fees associated with NYC transactions. You can see for yourself if you take a stroll through the blockexplorer.
NewYorkCoinMiner is correct in that their have been some forks and various devs playing with the code over the years. It's really nice of Charlie Kartchner to offer to reimburse those fees.
Perhaps someone will write a routine to display blocks with fees and the associated change address that payed the fee. It would make the reimbursement verifiable and easier for Charlie. Follow that with a routine to auto-reimburse any future transactions encountered. Of course, given the current codebase, these low amount reimbursements would be subject to a fee and Charlie would need to reimburse himself. If this were to continue, all his NYC could be depleted and in the hands of miners.
Again, I'm not here to start anything ... Just want to see closure to this subject/debate. Just read the code.

Could you write this routine? It can finally put the mystery fee-to-be debate to bed. So far nobody has claimed this fee as it never seems to occur.

Absolutely agree with Hobbyist.Just read the code. For especially unbelievers I will explain. The minimum transaction fee is voluntary and. Here and - is paid to the plighting miners for him block. But the main thing is that everyone and even such small coins are visible to everyone. See for yourself - http://nyc-block.mypool.club/ last block.
Everyone can not pay. But micro money goes to miners, not to someone. In general, the principle of crypto-currency is the transparency and security of each transaction.
No coin goes to the left. Once again - Just read the code.

As a supporter of NYC, we need to unite and let more people recognize and accept NYC. Why xrp, doge can go to moon, NYC is still being sold cheaply. One day, people who sell NYC will lose more wealth now.

Can a wallet update include the features hobbyist described? If a user (sending) ever encounters a network fee (set a minimum send such as 1.0 NYC or even 0.1 NYC to not interfere with dust-spam protection) has the option to either pay network fee themselves or click SEND FREE button to have original NYC miners pay the fee for them? I would be happy to fund this to finally alleviate the debate of potential theoretical fees for using the NYC network.

Keep in mind that even if this is possible and done. Avoid doing this until we hit big exchange, as Yobit doesn't update wallets.

NewYorkCoin has been invited to be listed in Octaex Exchange. Their lowest listing fee is 0.1 BTC. Post donations here (or reddit) and when community has raised listing fee, we can all send directly.
scryptenthusiast 0.01 BTC pledged
if not probleam of Octaex Exchange , jason wiil 0.01 BTC pledged . now, sell and buy , The difference is too big. Would also pledge at least 0.01, maybe more if we get closerto 0.1 but lacking few coins.

Yobit would not need to update their wallet. Yobit charges trading fees and their own transmission fees (regardless of network being free to use). Just an updated core wallet (windows and mac) would do the trick! Coinomi already has reviewed NYC code in great detail and decided to add it to their robust mobile platform with NO FEES. I guess the devs at Coinomi aren't too worried about the potential theoretical fees that may someday happen to someone under some scenario somewhere. So, just an update to the core wallets AND ONTO THE NEXT GREAT DEBATE!

Before paying: Octaex uses only 6 decimal places so only USD/NYC pair is feasible at this moment for NYC. Not with BTC, LTC, ETH

more great advise. BTC and ETH both show NYC (in USD) at 6 decimals. We have 3 supporters, just 7 more needed for Octaex Exchange.

NewYorkCoin has the opportunity to be listed on a 2nd real exchange!
Octaex is growing fast. Now doing almost $11m volume daily! Ranked #67 at coinmarketcap
https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/octaex/
0.1 BTC needed for new listing
0.03 BTC raised from community so far.
Just need 7 more NYC supporters to chip in 0.01 BTC each!
Let's go TEAM NYC!!!

Are you really on something? What it means is that unless NYC is worth 100 sat, it won't get any trading volume. Want a proof? ECA (listed there for more than 2 months) daily trading right now is $2M-$3M but zero at octaex. You can go there to take a look, or even from CMC listing. https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/octaex/I agree more exchange is good for NYC. However, we don't have to get crappy ones. I don't think the number you see in CMC is real. It is not that hard to fake volumes via API to CMC. For example, BTC/CNY got $5,996,450 volume but bid/ask is 38325/68952.25 for 2CNY. For a $6M volume trading, bid/ask gap should be tiny and bid/ask amount should be thousands, not 2... https://octaex.com/trade/depth/market/btc_cnyA fast growing ranked #67 has 13 pairs with meaningful volume? https://coinmarketcap.com/exchanges/octaex/They also said that "Delisting Terms: If there is less volume then $3000(Three thousand) per month, coin will be delisted" None has been delisted yet because if they do, they have to remove all There are many exchanges now, they will do this faked volume to get ranking to ask for listing fee. Do investigate before spreading.

You have to check out The New York Coin Center at 167 Mott Street in Soho. So cool! NewYorkCoin joins Bitcoin and Ethereum to be the ONLY 3 CRYPTOS with a brick and mortar Info Center. newyorkcoin.net Post to your Facebook, like & SHARE worldwide - most SHARES in next 30 days WINS 1,000,000 NYC!
I wanted to say that I've noticed NYCOIN being incredibly consistent with providing real world usage and getting this coin in the hands of businesses. More crypto can learn from this project and its awesome community.
