The attack was 51%. There is no possibility of burning coins. There is no development team. There is no future for the nyc coin !!! The coin is long dead. Do not even think about investing money in nyc, you will lose everything. At the helm is a team of SCAMMERS who lure new people into their networks by promising that nyc will soon be traded on major exchanges and increase in price, but this is not the case. From what they have been promising since 2017, they have failed to deliver on anything.

I find this statement to be slightly deceptive -  it appears the original developer has gone rouge, fell at the hands of attacks that were not known at the time 51% attack, or his team exploited him.

I'm so sick and tired of this space. Literally everybody in the space expects everyone else to magically make them a millionaire and they don't take any effort to do anything and then they attack the people that do try to do things. It's not okay and you can't besmirch my name just because you want to find a scapegoat for you not being a millionaire yet. It's actually much harder than you realize to find qualified developers that will actually complete the tasks they have before them and CryptoLover is actually very good at what he does and he is working on code for both New York Coin and Québecoin simultaneously. But they are separate projects and not affiliated with each other. Whether or not you want to hear that is up to you but quite frankly you're not really breaking any new ground.

Also the part you bolded is 100% correct. The whole point of a open source coin is that anyone who wants to can participate in the development so if you have someone that wants to add to the code and participate they can do so at any time. If what you're trying to say is you're willing to develop on Québecoin you're allowed to all you want. No one is preventing that.

Also, maybe you should be transparent yourself that you apparently haven't noticed how New York Coin is reviving finally with some access to liquidity. It's a damn miracle that NYC made it up as high as half of its all-time high from January 2018 and it's almost entirely thanks to the wrapped token that now exists for NYC on the BSC network. CryptoLover did that. Did you or have you ever contributed anything to any crypto project that amazing? Québecoin has a bunch of amazing stuff coming ahead but New York Coin has taken the higher priority because at least it has a viable community to speak of.
