BIP38
If you have wallets under BIP38, you can decrypt with this https://www.bitaddress.org
Then import the private keys on a Bitcoin Cash compatible wallet

Description:
Bitcoin Cash is a split from Bitcoin with a protocol upgrade to fix on-chain capacity. If Bitcoin Cash gets majority of PoW then it becomes de facto Bitcoin.
It will be a Bitcoin without segwit as soft fork, where upgrades of the protocol are done mainly through hard forks, without changing the economic rules of the Bitcoin.
This will be a fork of the Bitcoin blockchain, 1:1, so no-premining, no-ico (it is like a full airdrop)

My opinion:
While I support for sure the freedom of choice, you should be wise on touching this kind of things.
Your private keys are precious. Keep them safe

Warning: This is NOT Bcash, if you are searching for Bcash, look here: https://medium.com/@freetrade68/announcing-bcash-8b938329eaeb

Is there someone who actionally knows how its gonna happen?
Last thing i understood segwit will automaticly split-off bitcoin cash.
But this can't be tru right? Bitcoin cash cant suddenly left behind (as some softfork) looks it also needs to be hard forked.
So we have 3 coins very soon, today or tommorow? And also the segwit 2x next month?
If thats the case the surprise of the first initiative is already lost, or not?

I am getting the impression that not al technological advancements are on the table yet.
Next to a moral war its also played technological. If thats the case the surprise of the first initiative is already lost, or not?

The Trust Attack – From February, but as topical as ever.

TL;DR: Governments and banks would have a field day. They would say, see, they have inflation. They always preached that there would never be more than 21 million bitcoin. Now there are 42 million. This is the perfect wedge to drive into bitcoin and discourage all users.

@hgmichna
They are two different currencies, it isn't inflation.
You should better study more about economics.

It is like that you are saying that we make 100 forks of Bitcoin, then we have 21 milion * 100 Wink

i dont think this will have any effect on BTC, not even on BTC Price.

Let aside getting Majority of POW, which miners are supporting this Fork ?

As the difficulty will be changed to 1/6 of the current Bitcoin difficulty, I think that many miners with old asic will be able to mine this again.

"REQ-7 Difficulty adjustement in case of hashrate drop

In case the MTP of the tip of the chain is 12h or more after the MTP 6 block before the tip, the proof of work target is increased by a quarter, or 25%, which corresponds to a difficulty reduction of 20% .

RATIONALE: The hashrate supporting the chain is dependent on market price and hard to predict. In order to make sure the chain remains viable no matter what difficulty needs to adjust down in case of abrupt hashrate drop."

BTC price likely to drop 10 to 20 percent on August 1st when the chain splits. Make sure to have your private keys when this happens so you don't lose funds.
