Report: Crypto suffers severely from criminals and money laundering
 
The world of cryptocurrency is not a fairytale. Well-known fact. However some news truly make us doubt its main advantages.  

According to CipherTrace and the FBI’s report, three times more crypto was stolen during the first six months of 2018 than in whole 2017. The amount of complaints towards crypto-related issues increased six-fold. Oops!

More and more services appear that provide tools and solutions for money laundering. One of the most popular versions for legalising stolen money is layering. The primary purpose is to move money around to obfuscate its owner and to hide the traces so it will be harder to track the transactions. Tumblers, mixers and chain hopping are used as tools for layering. Criminals pay 1-3% for transactions to create untraceable mechanisms.

When money is somehow legalised, criminals send them into existing financial flows via exchange. It’s not so easy because the amount of crypto is measured to flag suspicious deposits but when it’s done there is no way back, and money is perceived as legitimate.

There are some of the services that help doing it (most of them were discovered and blocked but some still exist and even purchase the ad campaigns on Google).

Another way that allows criminals to cheat is gambling. They open accounts on the crypto gambling websites, deposit funds, make small bets just to legitimize their accounts and then withdraw wanted amount of money to various accounts. It is almost impossible to trace the stolen tokens.
 
Some of the experts insist on de-anonymisation of the crypto transaction so it will be easier to track the losses and to identify criminals.

it's a good question and we have no answers except general information.
I asked several times for information on kikonomy and crowfunding unanswered to date.
Normally the kickikoin token should go up to each successful fundraiser and there are more than 30 today some of which with huge amounts yet it remains very low.

We need regulations to protect the owners of crypto wallets in case of some unpleasant event of stolen money from them. It will bring more transparency and protection for people those don't take necessary measure to protect their investments. There should be some mechanism or coordination to fight against criminals within this space. I will go for legalization which protect a common investor with basic level of understanding.

I have missed the last AMA on reddit but everyone has almost similar questions to surely will have interesting read there. Of course, this is shortest way to get the actual status of project where that is standing on. Price are sitting on bottom it was huge correction and consolidation in all these months we saw downtrend.

I hope this trend will continue but it could be bull trap if bull run won't happen soon. It will be hard for any project to sustain in current situation even we have so many good news and this is effect of the hard work of dev team which is building trust of the new investors.

This is one of the undervalued crypto projects and the recent rise in its token price only suggest that it is on the path to achieve greater heights. I only hope it will continue to do so.
