The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

I'm planning to build or buy a miner. I will probably store it in my parents basement. They live not far away from my place so outages won't be a problem for me.

Has anyone researched data centers? Is electricity there capped or you just pay the fee for renting the racks?

To facilitate the inspection and maintenance of the tool, I prefer to keep my miner at home.
The most important obstacle for miner is electricity , I have plan to overcome the problem is by using solar panel and generator.

Can you pm me about your solar panel setup? I'm interested in looking for alternative energy as well.

What are your tips to lessen the heat of every graphic cards that are on for mining ? , do you guys prefer ventelation or rather to use aircon? , im running msi gtx 960 because it has large heat-pipes i hope it will not last , and i place it in our basement so it wont be affected that much heat of the sun. Next thing is do you pay alot of money for electricity ? .. well my mining rig takes alot of money from me every month. Do you guys have any suggest to lessen the power consumption ? or it will really stay like that high ?

I'm storing my miner in my parent's basement because of low ambient temp (cards run ~55°C), however I'm adapting one storage room in our family company to make small (up to 10 rigs) mining facility.

Power cost is a biggest deal here, I've got something around 0.10-11$ per kWh (thanks god parents have their company at home, so bill goes on company's costs), so right now my monthly electricity bill is around 16-17$ per 1080ti card running on skein (210W ea).

Your best bet is tweaking your card settings (i.e my card does 970mh on 100% tdp - up to 280W from wall, but it can also run 940 on 75% TDP with 210W). You need to decide if it's better for you to have more coins at higher electricity bill (with future possible increase in price of mined coin), or getting less but paying less for them (meaning nearly 'optimal' results).

Used to mine at home, then rented a place for my miners. Hoping to move up to an light industrial unit soon for even cheaper electricity.

Renting warehouse space.  Commercial property offers some wholesale pricing for bulk electricity which helps.
