Benefits from Gambling

I've benefitted from learning poker and becoming a winner player. I learned to be patient and to think long-term. When I play I make rational decisions based on data and some assumptions on what is more likely, then I have to calculate. I learned about how emotions can mess our decisions and to recognize when others are acting emotionally.

In general, poker has made me think better.

As for casino games, I doubt there is any benefit.

I agree. Poker is a good game. It also teaches you mathematics in form of probabilities.

The only benefit from gambling is when you win bigger than what you lost. This doesn't happen often though as most people end up broke.

Yes, there is nothing good that we get if we do not win more than lose, there is only just throwing our money away. Maybe gambling can be fun, but if we lose a lot more than we win, that's not good either. It's hard actually to find the benefit of gambling.

If you gamble only to make money then surely there is no benefit from gambling but some people like me gamble to get fun and excitement with a small amount will enjoy their free time in gambling. That fun itself is a benefit but luckily if you make money, then that is an additional benefit. But if people can't control their emotions while gambling then better don't go to gambling to get fun to avoid bigger losses.

Anyone who has gambled for any length of time will know the dangers of the slippery slope gambling can become. I like to gamble but remember to restrict what I spent and don't chase losses. As long as I have fun gambling its fine. If I was to start seeing it as a quick way to get rich I would end up spending more than I could afford. If anything gambling teaches you self control.

There's a positive side but only a little bit. All the good things you've got from gambling usually disappeared quickly yeah it's not last forever. Don't think overconfident like there's a chance for you to win after a losing streaks , you can have a good entertainment  etc. it's just work for a while.

The only positive thing that I feel is the relieving stress in our minds, sometimes we get the excitement from gambling if we are gambling for fun but this only appears in the first time we gambled, if we gambled regularly and in the long run, I really did not think we would get any benefits from gambling. The opportunity to win in gambling is too small, the benefit will be an unrealistic thing, loss will exist almost throughout the process we gamble, although the benefits are not many but I believe we will also have the appropriate lessons from gambling

That's what I mean , you won't get any benefit basically when you are planning to do it regularly in the long run. All you'll get are just regret to have experienced gamble at the first place. Be responsible and you might could see the difference, the benefits are there even didn't much affected.

The benefit in gambling is winning a little bit sometimes. The disadvantage though is losing it all in an instant.

Winning has the tail called losing and those benefits can be enjoyed in the beginning but once the boat started to sail not according to your plan then you better get ready for the consequences. There are benefits that you can take in gambling like when you are in times of need when you need money.

The problem right there is when you need money so bad, you gamble and end up losing everything.

I have knew some who depends their life in gambling  before, they take it as their job, it help thems to survive sometimes but most often make them into trouble. The only benefit i see in gambling is tbe fun and enjoyment we can feel when were playing.

Probably almost same as OP. Where the benefits i receive from gambling is about patience. I'm a rash person in everything. And used to do gambling so spend quite alot money in just a matter days. However, now i have become a trader where my profit is greater than losing i experienced when gambling.

I have known people that are living that way too and personally I have a friend that gambles that much through poker in real tables and as well as poker in bitcoin. He's earning that much and I admire his success through gambling. He's a wealthy person now and only few people are having the same fate with what he's experiencing. Monetary wise yes you can say in short time provided you are luck one can easily make some quick money. Some other benefits which I feel is like you can go in casinos and make new friends, go in a date if you like somebody , you can go and have some beverages for free as most of the casinos provide it, easily looking at other how they play you can learn some trick from the experts.

You have found your way to success therefore you have to focus on that as gambling is just a big distraction in your focus as a trader.
When you want to earn money you have to focus because its never easy to make money, you need to be smart all the time to have a chance to be consistent and eventually in the long run you will make good money in trading.

Based on my experience, I have never once benefited from gambling. If you get pleasure, that's for sure. because the gamble is for fun, not for profit.

It's always pleasure because we have to convince ourselves everytime we lose that we are just gambling for fun, it's a bad move if we seek for profit when we are not really making money because most likely we will lose more than what we expected. Being wise will help us enjoy in gambling as we will be able to limit our gambling activity which would only cost us a small amount of money.

People mostly cannot hold themselves to have more winning when they do won it.
As for the result noone receive a benefit from gambling , yeaaa it is just another disadvantage in the end.
You win that amount temporarily , and having a huge lost is a normal thing in gambling.

Yeah, gamblers have no self-control because they are the man of no courage and determination. They can’t control themselves from gambling because they have become totally dependent on gambling. For building this self-control, they lose all of their lives and they are able to build it at the time when it’s of no use. I am talking about their old age. Because of the greed for making more money, they even lose what they had once.

Sports betting is more intelligent choice considering you know which team or players are playing and which have better chance on that given day against the opposition. So you make a wise choice of betting on sports rather than playing the roulette,computer games or slot machines etc where you cannot do much.

I don't know if gambling can be a benefit. Maybe it is a benefit to be a social gambler where the benefit is having fun making friends and sharing your gambling experience with them. This could be online and offline. I know some will argue that there is no benefit and it is a negative or destructive activity. I disagree.

If you see it by all point of view, then gambling have some benefits. Gambling give us patience to bear the lose and face the risk, and control ourself from greediness. These all things which we learn from gambling, and the gambling have first and least benefit and that is it is a place where we can find fun and entertainment. But in short, we get these all benefits from gambling but it depend on ourself we want these benefits or not.

I don’t think the same about gambling as you are thinking. Gambling cannot help people to maintain their patience. However, it is opposite in the case of gambling.

Gamblers cannot work with patience because they have nothing left after losing the match for which they have to show the patience. Also, the gamblers try to win back their losses every time they fail to win and this shows that they are always in a hurry.
