When we pray, body, soul, spirit become calm and walk in a harmony, our result we get balance of body which is very useful for health. after praying, we will usually feel peaceful, calm, and happy.

And this is proof, that praying will trigger the emergence of a positive psychological response.our stress hormone levels are also reduced.

The most important thing, prayer is also able to maintain our immune system. so we are not sick easily.

A happy heart is a potent medicine

In addition to slowing down and working the brain, praying will also reduce heart rate and blood pressure.

Thoughts and prayer are esential in our life wether we accept it or not when we are in danger the first thing that comes in our thought is to pray.. To ask for help especially when it is beyond our capacity to save..our prayer may not be answered the way we expect to, but that doesn't mean He has no ability to save us nor response to our request.

Prayer is not useless for as long as one believe in GOD, the reason why we pray because we all need help, we need somebody whose powerful, all knowing  and all sufficient God to assist us,to guide us, and to usher us into doing good and becoming the good person that we always want to be..our thoughts and prayer would only be useless if without faith.. Thoughts is actually useful because it give us the idea of something and by thinking of what we had thought about we can act upon it with certainty. Without the use of thoughts, we might not be able to assure something before we act upon it. Then there are prayers, believe it or not, it is also helpful, of course not that it serves a specific purpose physically, but it can actually help calm our mind mentally. Praying and being able to believe that something is actually going to happen gives the person an optimistic perspective of the situation which is useful to a lot of ways, because of motivation and inspiration for it of coming true.

For me, prayers is talking to our internal being, our creator and thoughts or meditation is listening to our creator. So basically its talking and listening. It is actually advisable to listen more and to talk, so meditate more after your praying time.

I believe that prayer is our way of communicating and reaching God. Through prayers we are sharing all our problems and burdens unto God. God certainly has a plan for everyone, but He also leaves free choice, so it's very right to say what you want

That is really something I have never understood. Why should a god or God who knows everything and has a plan for everything listen to our prayers and change its plan afterwards? Shouldn't he know beforehand what we want and why should he bother what I want since I would not understand his plan anyway (per definition)?

We often try to ask the heaven, may be God, something that we think we need, what we think is right. In this endeavor we sometimes don't think about what is considered from the position of the heaven a request  an appeal. What thoughts and words go quickly upward to the heavenly office and why and which remain unanswered..

I agree with you that one may have thoughts and may not pray about it , but most of the time prayers comes from the thoughts of the hearts and believe in the words of God. Thoughts may come as a result of challenges or prolong expectations which may lead to prayers .
