Singapore is one of the leaders in tech and I doubt a simple country ban would stop users who really want to play here. Use tor or a VPN from another country and you should be able to access the site.

Is this real? PD was banned in Singapore ?
Yes. This is the read PD. Its banned in Singapore(as the ad says) and AFAIK its blocked in Australia too. They are just gaining attention by advertising their site that way. Must say those are awesome ads.

yup, countries are starting to ban online gambling sites.
thats kinda bs why they ban them if bitcoins are not real money?

What do u mean "bitcoin are not real money" ?

Can u buy stuff with it ? - Yes u can. So it is real money.

Fiat money is nothing more real than bitcoin , quite the opposite, we don't know how much fake , non existing, electronic fiat is out there , while with bitcoin we do know exact figures and we can see them on blockchain so it is much more real than fiat that banks use for example Smiley .
I guess he meant to say that bitcoin is not seen as real money by "governments" officially. But practically they also know that its equivalent to real money and so its banned.

Well yeah.

But i think reason behind this ban is more of a economical nature, they want to keep theirs money in Singapore.

We had similar situation in Serbia, our national lottery made poker room , and government made law that we cant gamble on any gambling site outside of Serbia Cheesy . It was rly hard to get money in and out foreign gambling sites like fulltilt , pokerstars ...

I guess the main problem Singapore is trying to resolve is the problem of online gambling and family issues. This is how it looks like when I attempt to load primedice: https://i.imgur.com/Z0V6qJN.jpg. It isn't effective since it can be bypassed using VPNs or Tor. Just-dice however, is not blocked. Maybe PD has more recognition here.

As far as I know gambling is not allowed in any country except you are paying tax to the government or valid licence. As most of us do gambling via Bitcoin, we don't need to pay any tax or explanation on income. I think this is the main reason behind banning these sites

It is not actually banned in Australia. Stunna is based there and preemptively blocked it out of fear of having to deal with potential government regulations.
so if its allowed in other countries he cant face  government regulations? thats strange
Maybe other counties wouldn't trouble stunna as much as his own country could and that's why he did that.

Thanks for sharing it. Never knew that

I must say Stunna took the right decision blocking PD in Australia because if he is staying in Australia having  a work/ student visa then it will be the worst case if he face any government issue

This almost sounds like a smear campaign from another site. This was on the forum right? Doesn't really seem like a wise decision to pay btc for an ad saying that its NOT avaliable in a specific country.

in 2015, people are not stupid anymore, there are alot of applications that enable you to change your IP address i.e hola extension and you can always use a VPN from another country for this, i doubt that stupid website block gonna reduce PD popularity  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

You can allways access it through VPN connection, which is something you should use anyways, and the price is so small, many wont even notice it in their expenses.
It seams like a smart move what he did, if its true ( "blocked it out of fear of having to deal with potential government regulations.") I would do the same thing.

cheers

I think Singapore has blocked a majority of gambling sites including poker. But I am surprised that applying to the bitcoin jurisdiction as well.

yes singapore bann majority of gambling sites, these apply to bitcoins as well because it doesnt matter if you are using bitcoins doge or anything to play, as long as it is gambling, then they will bann it

For reference to the above posts, Primedice did not block Singapore they blocked us under the RGA. Made for a decent advertisement as it seems as people are indeed talking about it.

If anyone has any ideas for some really funny ads post them here and we might use them in the future. Originally we had a few poking fun at the downtime we experienced last week (Primedice -- Now with 55% uptime!).

Just a notice, Primedice is no longer able to offer service to residents of Singapore. The Media Development Authority has reached out to us to let us know that they've blocked Primedice within Singapore under the Remote Gambling Act. If you have funds and are no longer able to access your account, email our support and we will allow you to withdraw at any point in the future. Primedice is fairly popular in Singapore which is why I'm making this post, I'm sure users from Singapore are aware of the situation though as at least 100 other gambling websites were blocked as a result of the Remote Gambling Act.

Thanks

NOTICE OF ACCESS BLOCKING ORDERS – AFFECTED PERSONS’ NOTICE UNDER SECTION 22(1)(a) OF THE REMOTE GAMBLING ACT 2014 OF SINGAPORE (“RGA”)[1]

I am an authorised officer under the RGA.

2.         In accordance with section 22(1)(a) of the RGA, I hereby notify primedice.com that the Media Development Authority of Singapore (“MDA”) has, under my direction under section 20(1) RGA, given  access blocking orders (“ABOs”) to Internet service providers regulated by MDA to take reasonable steps to disable access to the online locations stated in Annex B, of which primedice.com is the owner and/or operator.

3.         The ABOs were given by the MDA as I, after having regard to the matters referred to in section 20(2) RGA, am satisfied that that every online location in Annex B is –

a.    an online location through which a remote gambling service is provided in contravention of section 10 RGA;

b.    an online location that is or may be used by individuals present in Singapore to gamble in contravention of section 8 RGA;

and that the services of the Internet service providers have been or are being used to access or facilitate access to these online locations.

tl;dr  Singapore broke up with us... and 100+ other gaming websites.   Cry

I played again for a while on Friday and lost all my money again.  I had a bit of fun though.

I think my main feedback is that the spinner "total bets" needs to be able to be hidden easily.  This spinner makes my cpu run at 100% and then everything else is terribly slow and laggy.  However, I can of course, use my browser to delete element, and that's what I do.  This works fine, I still get a million javascript errors in my console.log because of the deleted element however my cpu runs at 10% rather than 100% and I can play PD just fine.

So that's my suggestion, put a little button which hides the total bets spinner and doesn't cause a bunch of js errors.

We removed the fancy animation which was generating random numbers between each update (while it spun to the accurate value). Are you sure this is still the source of lag? Try removing it with inspect element and let me know if anything changes speed wise.

I miss the times when more than half of the forum was using PrimeDice signatures. But I guess that if Stunna wanted to launch signature campaign he would do this long time ago. PrimeDice has enough players already...
