Gambling is one of those things that doesn't really care if you are rich or poor at all. If you are rich you can play on 100 btc but you can lose 100 btc or win 100 btc so its the risk you are taking but since you are rich you can take it. The difference between losing right away and losing after winning is that difficulty to leave the win behind. Whales are less affected by emotions, because they control their emotions better and they are guys whom usually create panic and FOMO in trading. In gambling, it is not actually the same, but basically whales are whales, and they better self control despite of they win or lose with their gamblings. In contrast, small traders, small gamblers have very unstable emotions, and have worse ability to self-control, so they mostly end with loses.

I think whales has nothing to do in gambling. Suppose a whale has invested a lot of money in gambling, there is no grantee that they will win, instead they could have lost it all in gambling.
