No insult meant,
but really? Another new one?

Why should I switch?
Because this coin isn't a bonus block carnival game made to pump N dump the coin when it is listed on an exchange.  Also, while it is based on Litecoin, there will be further development and improvements to the code, and we will be using donations and proceeds from mining to compensate those interested in further development of the code.  Some projects we are working on or prototyping are: new wallet system, a dedicated server service/daemon (strictly for mining & pools), a possible point of sale system for scanning a card/wallet, etc.  Most ideas are simply ideas, and there are roadblocks to some of them.  But this is not a currency released, and then left to die on the vine.  We will take an active part in its development and welcome anyone else interested in bringing these ideas to reality to help out.

So you don't want to set the start-difficulty at 0,5 or 1 because that way you couldn't mine the shit out of the coin the first few minutes, right?

That means you will proved the ports too to solo mine until a pool gets up and running?

I might actually mine this Smiley Not that I have good hashing power but hey... might be worth a shot.

With graphics it's always worth trying to do something a little more professional looking. Here's a couple of minutes photoshop.
Very true - but we aren't professionals, and aren't artists LOL which is why we are taking donations in NIB's, BTC, LTC for contests to design the logo.

Think of the logo we have as simple, and just a placeholder for something better.

Will you be able to solo mine this at the start, or will it suffer from orphans etc?

Yes, and for solo mining, you can (and should IMHO) set your own ports.  But you could also use the default ports.  All that info will be provided.

how did you acomplished no instamine orphan-fest ?

Orphan's occur (during low difficulty) when another miner A solves the block, and miner B solve the same block, but the majority of the nodes believe miner A's proof of work is superior.

Not really.

From blockchain.info
Quote
Detached or Orphaned blocks are valid blocks which are not part of the main chain. They can occur naturally when two miners produce blocks at similar times or they can be caused by an attacker (with enough hashing power) attempting to reverse transactions.

No you will get orphans for sure, there's no way around this. But I believe (from my tests) that the rewards you receive at low difficulty should be close to what you will receive when the difficulty rises.

where are you or the nodes located, or are they spread out around the globe a bit - i.e. who will be getting all the blocks while the rest of the world gets 100% orphans?

There is way. Just set initial difficulty to something about 5 or 10. Network will generate one block per minute, not one block per second and you can say "Goodbye" to orphan factory.

I'm going to give it about an hour mining on release and then if just generates rejects and orphans - go back to what I was doing. – same if I can’t even connect .

He already prepared a few peers with low latency for insta mine
