Transaction fees would turn off most everyone from using bitcoin as payment for taxi fares. I wouldn’t pay much more than I have to just for the sake of using bitcoin for transactions. These kind of transactions are better off with plain cold cash or just using a debit card with no additional charges. No need to complicate things as simple as this.

Yes transaction fees is the most common problem in these days​ and affecting more people who are wanted to send bitcoin in the other wallet. It is not good to use bitcoin as a money to buy products or services that we want in our community. Yes the bitcoin price will rise up because of this demand but it can cause a high transaction fees that we may encounter when these are become officially introduce to all services in our community.

It is good if it is.But reduce transaction costs.At present we know coinbase email to email transaction system full free.we can use this and fill taxi fee.So what do you say?

It's good to hear that, but at this moment it is impossible to happen because it probably no one will accept bitcoin as payment. Bitcoin isn't fully established yet in any country even though it is declared legal but for that small amount couldn't be happen. Maybe in 3years onward a big possibilty for it.

.I think this is a great initiative. It is possible to use bitcoin to pay for taxi, helping bitcoin to come closer to real life. Not only have to pay taxis we can also pay for other means like buses. Or truck .. but this should have a quick bitcoin form of payment to meet the requirements of the customer.

I personally wouldn't use my coins to pay for trifles like that. I can as well use fiat. And it would take quite a while for the transaction to be confirmed anyways

I don't think that bitcoin will be a good idea to be partnered with taxi because not all the people right now are really taking taxi and they just prefer uber or grab and paying those services with bitcoin is not a wise decision because the value of bitcoin is volatile and you might lose the possible profit with those bitcoins that you will pay and it is better for me to just pay services using fiat.

Shouldn't be such a hard idea to implement, simply using existing Taxi apps (Lyft, Uber etc) and adding an option to pay with BTC (or with cryptocurrencies in general) - actually, I'd expect this kind of thing to already exist somwhere, seems like a logical idea.

Yes, I do strongly agree to this it would be much easier to pay taxis via bitcoin it would be fast and it will save the trouble of money changes. Hope it will come soon throughout the world.

Its a good idea and I've seen before posted here  that there is a taxi that accepts bitcoin. Its good to hear such news day after day there are new update s about the uses of bitcoin. I think we are ready to make bitcoin becomes mainstream.

BTC doesn't fit for small payments today
The fees are too high currently and the confirmation can take hours.

Confirmation times isnt a problem regarding on this kind of payment for taxi services since once the funds have been sent it cant be reversed which a driver can really have the assurance that payment would really arrive on their wallet but the hindrance or problem would really be on the fees itself and as being said its high and its not really worth to use bitcoin and i would rather pay up the tradition local fiat payment since i know i can able to save than using bitcoin.

You can request that to some of the car applications today like Uber, Grab etc.

But for me I have my fiat so why will I used bitcoin for that. Also the fare can be considered as micro transactions since i so maybe in the end you are paying high transaction fees rather than your fare. But still if anyone want to pursue it, taxi drivers can start it by placing some banners around their taxi that they accept bitcoin as payment.

i dont where you are making your post from but in my state, the taxis run intra cities and just for a few bucks. Paying the transaction fees anytime you pick a taxi in addition to the taxi charges is not ideal in my world.

I don't think the idea of Bitcoin payments in a Taxi is a very doable option, because:

- most taxis I know doesn't even support Debit/Credit card payments, nor any other form of electronic cash, taxis with card terminal are still sparse
- bitcoin fees are rather high when we compare the a value of BTC and the amount you need to pay as a fee, it's kinda hard to use BTC as an everyday low-cost payment method
- there are not many bitcoin users who would want this option to be introduced - we are still in early adoption phase, we need time

it would be an interesting experience to do so, and considering how Uber is starting to look at bitcoin seriously, Then that might not be as far as others imagine, On the other hand, it's interesting to use bitcoin in anything physical, from Cafe's to ATM's.

For shorter distance or within the city, I guess Bitcoin will not be optimum for it. We can use some other coin which is having fewer transfer fees and with faster transactions. BTC may be used for long distance traveling or better is for air traveling.

Yes I agree. It will be great to pay Bitcoin for taxi. But transaction fees are too high, it won’t make sense paying taxi fare with Bitcoin now.  

Mostly people want this it be happened including me. But transaction fee is the biggest problem to be solved. Transaction is due to high use of bitcoin. But in future I think this problem will be solved because there will be much betterments that we will see in bitcoin. And bitcoin with taxi is a good way to be comfortable for both driver and the traveler. In my country taxi system is worse and I think with the passage of time it should become better and bitcoin will be a part of this betterment

That would be a great development of bitcoin and it's simply digital evolution towards public transportation which I think everybody will be able to benefit in the future. This will encourage the participation of bitcoin with whole world's population to recognize digital currency as a new way of spending. It will eliminate the hassle paper money payments like no those charges with small amounts to be given to the customer of the taxi, sometimes it's so hassle seeking physical coin bills in return of the excess money. Hopefully this will this will be open to my country soon and I believed bitcoin currency will surely be rising star of currency in the future of digital money.

I think here in the Philippines we could use our local online wallet to pay for our taxi fare,
And also it gives discount for the first use but never really tried it .
