there is nobody that can give you a complete answer to this question... Can you tell us what you plan on doing? Purchasing a large amount of BTC as an investment, experimenting, buying from online retailers, buying in physical shops, trading altcoins...

Each of these usecases will result in other recommandations... And even then, the recommandations you'll get will most probably be personal opinions rather than hard facts.

The only no-brainer i can give you without knowing the usecase is: don't use web wallets or exchanges for storing BTC, unless it's for keeping a very minimal amount of "spending money" when you're on the road... Or in case of an exchange: don't keep your BTC on an exchange longer that the time you need to deposit, exchange and withdraw your BTC (don't even leave it on an exchange overnight).

It also would depend on what you plan on doing with this newly bought bitcoin.

If you plan to just invest then a wallet online.

If it were to transfer from computer to computer then an offline one.
Where you only plug in to get it online to connect to the blockchain to process your transactions.

A hardware wallet such as a ledger or a trezor might be your best bet to get if you haven't purchased that bitcoin yet.

There is no safe way to store your bitcoins. Each method has its advantages and disadvantages. You need to know all the dangers that can lie in wait for and methods of dealing with them. Then you can consciously make your choice and to take care of the security of your savings.

You should choose wallet that you like and suitable for your need. Bitcoin core is very good but u have to download the blockchain, which is very large and takes a lot of harddisk space. Electrum probably suitable for your need, you have the private key, no need to download large amount of file and quite secure.

The most secured is "cold storage", but it isn't convivient to make "everyday" transactions. So if you want to invest in long term make "cold storage" wallet.

Where are you from? cause here in the Philippines, we use coins.ph because it is trusted here and easy to use, we can use it here easily because all of the bills payment on that wallet is all about here in the Philippines. You'll need to know what is the trusted wallet in your country.

Indeed, there's no certain answer for everyone, because some people have different purposes about bitcoin compare with others.
Depends on your purpose, whether bitcoin will be for long term investment or just for short term? where do you live?
For newbies, the best place to purchase bitcoin is through local exchanges in your country as it's easier to deposit fiat currency.
If you're looking for normal online wallet, I recommend blockchain.info as it seems so good regarding transaction fees right now compare with electrum. You can download it to your phone in play store or App store, if you want to.

The very common advise among the cryptocurrency industry is if you don't own the private keys to your wallet, the currency is not yours. With that said, there's still a lot to choose from. Blockchain for web wallet, Electrum for desktop wallet, and MyCelium for phone wallet.

.

What do you mean? How do you use it? If you just hold a bitcoins you can use many wallets but you should hold your private keys. This is the one I recommend @Coinomi - and if you buy bitcoins and you'll invest in trading or whatever. This is the best @coinbase. Here you can buy bitcoins using bank transfer.

Will depend on the amount of Bitcoins. If your purchase is above BTC0.50, then I would advice you to buy a hardware wallet, such as Ledger Blue or Trezor. On the other hand, if you are planning to go for a smaller amount, then you can use any of these free wallets. You can use desktop wallets (such as Electrum), mobile wallets (such as Coinomi), or online wallets (such as Blockchain.info). But please don't store your coins in any exchange wallet.

if you only want to save with small amount then i suggest you don't have to purchase wallet but you only need to download wallet for your computer or you cellphone. the wallet i recommendation is bitcoin core, multibit (which is very fast and light for me and no need to waiting too long for syncronize) and for your cellphone you can use mycelium, jaxx (i use this and its fast loading).

The most secured is "cold storage", but it isn't convivient to make "everyday" transactions. So if you want to invest in long term make "cold storage" wallet.

what you said is true, but are you really making transactions every day? by make transaction i mean spend your funds not receive, obviously receiving doesn't need anything on your part!

also even if you spend bitcoin every day, it is not a large amount. you can have 2 wallets. a cold storage to keep the large amount (eg 21BTC in cold storage!) and a hot wallet on your desktop or phone if you want to have access to funds for spending (eg. 0.11BTC=~$500)

There is a FOMO brewing...

What country are you in? because maybe you have a local provider that really caters bitcoin wallet in your region. But for it is much better to use blockchain.info online wallet because it is more eco-friendly and so easy to use when transacting payments or receiving. But it is up to you whatever you want because there are so many online wallets out there or you can try offline wallets so you can secure your own private keys. Search more about it so you will know more with yourself instead of asking that will leave you more innocent.

Use offline wallet so you do not have to worry about your bitcoin security. because right now the wallet exchange is not believed anymore since the BTC-e case. I have switched all btc assets into my personal wallet

use bitcoin core it's the best and most secure, but require a large storage at first for synching the blockchain, but then you can use the prune mode to reduce space

It actually depends on which country you're from so it would be a favorable to you and you can then put a 2fa so that you hold the keys to your wallet to make it much safer.

I understand that letting your Bitcoin Core run for at least a few hours (maybe 6?) everyday help keep the system even more decentralize as well, there's no financial benefit though and require a constant internet connection.
