I am often late from work due to gambling. Did you ever lose time from work or school due to gambling?   

Yes i experienced that twice am late on my work because of gambling. But in real life am so late because i enjoyed playing I did not notice that am 1 hour late to my work. I thought its not happen again but in a another day am late again. So i decided to stop gamble.

Gambling is my job so I never miss work because I am gambling; however, if gambling is effecting your life negatively, then it may be time to reassess your decision making tendencies-->To be successful at anything in life, including gambling, one has to set clear priorities and stick to them stubbornly. I learned that the hard way ---> over and over again ---> it takes discipline to listen to the angel on one shoulder while ignoring the demon on the other!  We know better --->we just have to listen to the rational side of ourselves instead of giving in to our temptations.

Hah. Good question. And to answer you Yes, I have done it multiples times when I was still a office boy. LOL. Me and my 3 buddies, would go out for some time, then go cock fighting near in our office. I was never really into it, but once I experience how to bet, I quickly fell in love with it and we will go out routinely from work to bet, and back at work after a few hours. That was long time ago. Also in my last job, I would call my wife to pick me up early and then we will go gamble to a casino. Sometimes I have to call in sick and not report to work because I just lost and I'm so frustrated and disappointed. That's how I was during the height of my gambling addiction. Me and my buddies would just laugh it out everytime we see each other and talking about it. Funny times indeed.

When I was at university I lost, but now, when I work, I'm never late because of gambling. You need to distribute your time more attentively.

Sometimes i find my self unwillingly opening the websites i gamble in and looking for today's sport games and the odds that seems good for me , and all of this happens when i'm at the university or my part time job .. i spend hours until my class/shift ends without realising that i didn't do my tasks ..

I too have these moments where you forgot time because of the thrill you feel whenever you bet but sometimes I know the time yet I still gamble like for example when I'm on my winning streak.

Sometime it is happen when we play continuously and feel excitement then we forget the time, and spend a lot of time in gambling. But as he said in this thread, that he is late his work and school due to gambling, then i think he has addiction of gambling, because work is more important than gambling. So better to do work for earn money and secondly start to play gambling. Try to manage our time, then sure gambling never disturb us.

Yes.. when I was in college. me and my classmates always spent our time in billiard halls and we do our gambling session. We are allowed to gamble since we don't have a school uniform back then. We always skipped some of our late class just to gamble it was fun for experience but we stopped it because we failed our class because of our attendance.

For me, no. If you are someone that is losing time for anything because of gambling, then that means you have a serious problem and you should consider getting help. Normally I lose time for work and school and family because of one another. Nothing else really. I think if you preoccupy yourself in other things, you can avoid gambling all through out.

When gambling ruins our priorities,we should think if it's worthy. Playing gambling requires self control. It's not bad to play gambling but it's bad if we forgot our obligations. If we want to continue gambling we should know how to manage it without affecting our living.

I never had any of them both or any personal business that I've lose time because of gambling. I won't prioritize gambling over anything. Also I can't concentrate in playing if there's something i'm thinking. That's why I only do gambling whenever it's my freetime so I only gamble at night when i'm on my bed.

I don't think that most people lose time on work and other stuffs for gambling rather most of them lost track of time where to enjoy too much on gambling and made them late for their work or stuffs. But still I don't recommend people to do gambling since it triggers addiction to it where they end up losing what they've earned.

I lose a lot of time in school because of gambling, we knows that gambling is so very addicted any thing we can do in gambling purpose. In gambling you forgoten your obligation why? Because gambling is very fan games and addicted and beside that if you are smart in gambling they have possibility that it is your source of your income. I never have lost time for anything due to gambling. I would say that it is not a good thing to be caught up in such an addiction or bad habit. Gambling is indeed fun and entertaining, but it is not something I will let control of my time or especially my life. Just play wisely and responsibly and everything will absolutely be fine.

I never lost time from work or school due to gambling, but I must confess that it is very addictive and sometimes most of my spare time I spent gambling. But now I have more control and try to balance time and also spend time with friends and family and doing outdoor activities.

No, never tried it and wouldn't do it either. Work is important to me and would not skip it just to gamble. I'll play after work and during weekends only. If you have this mentality then you are really addicted to gambling. What would happen to you if you skip and just gamble? You might lose you work because of this. Not advisable.

But still the desire to win in gambling could beat everything include your work time.
And that time i think you are considered as an addict and have a serious problem in gambling.
A normal player won't do that ridiculous action , gambling should really treat as a way to having fun , not as a trouble maker.

It's true, some crazy people may do this, but I think it doesn't make any sense... Work/Studies are very important and necessary for your future life, gambling is just good on the moment, it's an immediately pleasure that won't give you any benefit on the future (only a little chance of happen, if you are very lucky, but won't happen for most people anyway). Gambling is a hobby and we practice our hobbies on our vacant hours only.

Yeaaa actually gambling is a way to having fun only for a while.
But sometimes it could be above everything when you are on fire to gamble and doing non sense things.
That's how an addiction strated works in your daily life , step by step coukd really destroy your life.

There was one time that I played poker after work, I went out from work at 11 pm and played until the morning. I only won $200 from that and I was able to sleep at 7 am. I forgot to say that we were drinking while playing poker so the next day I wasn't able to go to work. I was suspended for a week because of that.

Its an early sign of addiction maybe? If you know you have something very important to do and just set it aside to gamble is clearly an early sign of an addiction. Just don't let it take your job away, gambling for profit is good but don't let it take away the main source of your income.

I sure it's possibly the sign of addiction. OP should realize that and then start to reduce gamble.
Gambling for profit is just a temporary, it's just can achieved for a sometimes, not all time and not constant.

I won't give it a name of addiction until or unless I come to know whether OP or anyone is unable to give up gambling but this is definitely an alarming situation. If someone continues this routine, I am afraid he would be an addict before he could even realize.

I have experienced things like this, but not very often. I spent too much time playing at one of the gambling sites and well till i forget about other work or other activities i had to do. I think this is an accident to me that sometimes happens, and i don't realize, maybe this is the seed of the addiction for me who hasn't felt addiction of gambling. Maybe i must more control and carefully for this thing.

I didn't get late from my job because of gambling but most of the time I regret wasting my precious time doing nothing. However, I have skipped my lunch and dinners at times but now I gamble very less as I used to once.
You must watch your steps dude. You really need to.
