my personal advice to fellow singaporeans is don't bother with mining unless you miraculously got free juice and space but even then difficulty is going to hit 100mil in no time, we're at 65mil now.... personally i had a quicker roi with flipping securities... for example.. https://btct.co/security/LABCOINinitial share price was 0.001 so if you invested 20btc at current prices your 20 btc would've been about 50-60 btc by now... now imagine those lucky ones who got in with 100btc even at 0.002 which was the price couple of weeks ago.. my projection is labcoin will have some more to go up at least 0.005 once they start their mining operations and besides btcgarden ipo fall out had some liquidity moved into labcoin... but again do your own research and trade with money you can afford to lose...

labcoin is a company that plans to enter mining operations.. you can read up on it here... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=241033.0i was referring to its shares that were launched recently... these not so popular alt crypto coins like labcoin.. isn't it hard to trade since liquidity can be bad?

for mining, the hardware is a constant challenge, the difficulty is rising much faster than what the hardware can catch up. Investing in such a company need to factor in the constantly changing and improving designs of the ASICS and beyond.

right, which is why i'm pretty much done with catch up games at this point and will just speculate in upcoming mining companies which seem to give better ROIs if you time it right... i think cloud services, leasing miners are the future...and IPOs are going to be that next big thing now that China is catching up... http://www.scmp.com/business/china-business/article/1299374/bitcoin-spawns-virtual-ipos-chinajust to give you a rough picture of how trading securities has become popular... take a look at the volume below... https://btct.co/Site Volume Last 30d Total 158,343.75 BTC Last 24h Total 5,128.77 BTC Daily Average 6,347.46 BTC labcoin is a company that plans to enter mining operations.. you can read up on it here... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=241033.0i was referring to its shares that were launched recently... these not so popular alt crypto coins like labcoin.. isn't it hard to trade since liquidity can be bad?

Normal equities of China are dangerous enough already without adding in the volatility element of Bitcoin.

Singapore currency is weighted against a basket of currencies, I find that it is the most effective way as compared to others. It gives us far more control over our own currencies and less worries of being attacked by the likes of Soros as in the British pound
This sounds really smart, until you see the history pegged to pound pegged to dollar pegged to a trade weighted basket of foreign currencies (undisclosed weights) pegged to an undisclosed band around a undisclosed basket of currencies It is said to be fully backed by the currencies in the basket. But when the elements in the basket change in value, the degree of backing will also change. And you have to wonder, is some of the backing in foreign sovereign bonds, by chance? The next step is probably a fully floating singapore dollar, unless gold backing or sound money should suddenly become popular, which is improbable.

pretty simple actually... just sign up at https://btct.co, transfer your bitcoins over and start bidding for shares, just like you buy bitcoins with fiat on any other exchange... give it a try, at least sign up and surf around... how are you going to invest in those IPOs overseas?

having a currency pegged to undisclosed currencies to portray so called "stable currency" is just an illusion folks, because it is as good as long as that basket agrees to accept the pegged currency... so once sgd loses its real purpose to that basket you can kiss goodbye to your savings... what keeps sgd at whatever exchange rate now is tied to something else... just to give you a clue, think of switzerland and see what's really driving swiss francs.. no it's not the watches... Still trying to find ways to overclock the BE USB miner. Found a shop in sim lim tower that sells the SMD resistors and crystal but needs to take 1 day to arrive... Pre order again... If you do not overclock, the ROI takes 11 months or longer... http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/ebbb00bafdBut if you overclock to 16MHz + 1.4k resistor, will take about 5 months or longer to ROI... http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/c0441de9ceAssumption is the constant growth of 40M difficult per month (this is based on aug 2013) and the power price stays at 0.21USD

http://thegenesisblock.com/bitfury-begins-shipping-to-customers/guys bitcoin difficulty is going to go through the roof... allchains.info reports 86497557.64 diff... i don't know how you guys feel but i think bitcoin is going to be scarce and appreciate even further... i just made a rough calculation for that 400gh bitfury and in 2 months that device will have mined roughly 15-16 bitcoins that's just pathetic for such a powerful miner...considering difficulty goes up by 20747497.64 each time network retargets... but it will increase even further once more hashrate comes online... unless regulation hammer comes down pretty hard on it looks like i'm going to hold on to my stash...
