If i am being correct, Iridium has not yet hit any exchanges right?
I think the devs already said multiple times over the last few pages of this thread that first the coin needs to reach a certain technical milestone and only then they will apply for listing on exchanges. Why would anyone hurry to get this coin onto some shitty ultra low liquidity exchange, where literally nobody will place buy orders? This would contribute nothing to the coin and it will contribute pretty much nothing to the pockets of those who desperately want to dump their stash. If anyone wants to sell, just make sell offers here. Or create a new thread for IRD OTC trading to not clog this one and post the link here. So if 18million coins are being produced in 1 year and being mined by a handful of people, wont there be a massive dump in price once it hits any market? Currently i see less than 100 miners in the network. Calm your horses, not trying to fud, just found out about this, started mining, and wanna know more about the coin.

You got some seriously huge hands there, if they have 100 fingers each. It's a total myth that only a few people mine it and then immediately dump it. That's not how game theory and economics work. You can't dump anything if there is no liquidity in the market. Then why would anyone dump at all if there is enough liquidity and price goes up? Bitcoin was mined by even less people initially than IRD (let's exclude Satoshi). Did they dump and "destroy the coin" (yes, some people really think an talk that way, not noticing this is not how it works). Even if one miner out of many would dump? So what? This means a stash owned by one guy goes into the hands of many guys. That's exactly how it is supposed to be. Did anyone who "dumped" BTC or ETH or XMR or... in the past gain anything? No, they got rekt and lost a fortune, each one of them. You already know what the best thing to do is now. As you said: starting to mine The network is public from day one and nobody was preventing anybody from mining. Those who don't mine do so by their own decision. Nobody there to blame. Especially when the coin's algo is CPU friendly so literally everyone is able to mine it. And no ASICs exist or will exist for the foreseeable future. It can't get better than this.

A request to new miners: Please spread your hashrate among the three (or do we have more?) pools. I see everyone points to mine77. You won't earn more coins if you join the pool with the highest hashrate. It's the same difficulty (you don't say!) in all pools and only this determines the amount of coins you get day after day. Over the past months we have also seen that particularly one pool (name doesn't matter) was hanging a few times, sometimes for an entire day. To the workers it looked like all was okay and they mined full power, but the daemon or whatever was actually offline and not a single block was found over 24h, despite having 80% of total hashrate. All the while the smaller pools found one block after the other while the majority of hashrate produced just hot air in the stuck pool. The smaller pools also had glitches sometimes, but much shorter ones. If you have more than one rig, it is best to split workers across the pools. Configuring backup pools won't help because to the workers everything looked fine so they wouldn't switch and would keep on mining for nothing. This can happen with any pool so don't put all rigs into the same basket, especially if you don't monitor the pool permanently. From the first post: Pools: https://mine77.nethttp://irdpool.tkhttps://ird.uvac.fr

I'm glad I found this coin, I will get my two rigs to mine this I like the supply distribution. Anyone that would like to sell me their IRD feel free to pm with their offers if there's no public interest in this coin is simply because people is are not aware not because this coin is bad. I don't even think we'll see a low price once this hits an exchange, that is if miners are able to dump evenly instead of like dumbasses.

Hi guys, i have also same problems (transfer coins) with another coin's gui wallet . These gui wallets , i think come from bytecoin source and very low tx kb sizes.
dev's maybe find a solution increasing the block size. If we cannot make transfers over 100 coins in one time , then how we can handle to this problem?
The new gui wallet needs to be checked by everyone sending coins to another adresses and share the info here..
P.s.: i lost 9000 coins like this transfer problems with another cryptonight algo coin and they also still didnot solve this problem over the 1.5 month.
Thank you for your hard efforts. Before going an exchange we have to solve these transfer problems.

A general advice to anyone not wanting to experience this: When you create a new wallet which is not based on a mnemonic seed, no matter which coin, make a backup first before you transfer any coins into the new wallet. Preferably two backups to two independent devices (optionally encrypted with VeraCrypt) When you create an HD wallet based on a mnemonic seed obviously you should immediately write down your seed on paper, preferably on two different papers stored in different locations, before sending any coins to the wallet. That way the private keys are backed up and secured and you won't lose your coins if you do something stupid. And no, taking a photo of the seed with your mobile phone is not good. You will eventually delete the photo, it will get lost when the SD card dies or someone will find it on your cloud storage and know how to use that seed for himself. Write it down and store it with all other papers and documents that you keep for your entire life.

Sure the coins are "lost", when in fact they are only stuck temporarily in the mempool and will drop out after some time? Is it indeed a problem of the wallet or of the protocol itself? It's not the wallet which decides if a tx fits into a block! I fully agree with your last sentence. It would be very bad to disappoint new users with a bad user experience. Going to the market shouldn't be hurried. Tech first, wider audience later.

Might want to add a link to the MSVC runtime Redistributable installer. If you don't have it already it is requried for the Windows installer to complete.
Otherwise, very nice job. GUI looks slick.

Thanks. No problem. People just might want to check their downloads. So these sums usually should be on the release page. To the miners: It seems that the mine77 pool crashed one hour ago ( 4:00 GMT 4:00 p.m. GMT or 16:00 GMT). It's a situation I mentioned earlier. Workers get jobs and they hash but pool doesn't find any blocks and the front end is stuck. It shows 46951 as the last block but the chain is already at 46972. It's very possible that 80kH/s (60% of the network hashrate) are mining for nothing since one hour now.

I was installing on a VM that I use only for crypto and had recently reimaged so VCRT hadn't been installed yet and the installer errored out with messages about missing DLLs which are part of the runtime.
