Hey everyone, today I'd like to explain to you one of the most important concepts that we presented yesterday in our new white paper - the blockchain scaffold.

What is a scaffold and how does it work?

One of the unique aspects of our solution for developers to accept cryptocurrency for their in-app purchases is the Scaffold. The Scaffold is a smart contract that bridges the gap between the developer’s database and the user. They can be created through our API and customized to suit the developer. Each Scaffold is created for a specific in-app purchase. When payment is sent from the user to the Scaffold, the Scaffold automatically transfers payment to the user and returns to the User a State that represents the purchase. For example, a Scaffold can be customized to issue subscriber status for a customer. The Scaffold will ultimately accept cryptocurrency from the user, provide the user with a subscriber state, and immediately send payment to the developer. No more lag time for developers to accept payment! The scaffold is very modular and can be implemented with minimal modifications to their application. Centralized merchant entities are in it for themselves and don't look out for the well-being of app developers. It's great that this technology stack can remove the need for a centralized body when it comes to payments.

Some of you have been asking for an example of how the OPEN Platform would work. In this example, we will go over a very brief explanation of how it is planned.  A dating app’s developer offers users an option to upgrade to a premium membership. They will implement the OPEN Platform to have faster access to funds, including cryptocurrency.

1. The developer creates a Scaffold for his dating app. The Scaffold is customized for his premium subscription model using OPEN Platform’s API.
2. The Scaffold is activated using OPEN Token.
3. Joe is having no luck dating lately and wishes to become a premium subscriber and using his OPEN Wallet, sends crypto of his choice to the Scaffold (enabled through the OPEN API)
4. The Scaffold receives the funds, checks all the properties of the transaction and when all parameters are satisfied, automatically sends the cryptocurrency to the developer as well as provides Joe with an OPEN_State as having paid for a premium membership.
5. The applicaiton’s database verifies that Joe has paid for the premium membership and Joe is granted the premium membership.
6. Joe finds and marries the love of his life! (They later have 6 kids and get a divorce, but that's a different story)
