I consider bitcoin as the root of a large tree, and altcoin is a branch of a tree. what will happen to the branch when the roots die? Then the twigs will slowly begin to dry and eventually die as well. Bitcoin is now a necessity. Altcoin could have died but bitcoin will still exist, and meet the needs of its users, bitcoin will die if the market dies.
This is the truth. Now everything can be said to be based on Bitcoin. No one can deny this factor.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

I think that they will reach the top, the main time that must be tolerated. Altcoin and bitcoin are some of the most stable and fast-growing coins.

bitcoin is the biggest crypto money world. If the volume of bitcoin is decreasing and the value is reduced, the subcoins are directly affected. because the base of the subcoins is the bitcoin. so I agree with the subject topic.

If Bitcoin dies the position of crypto market monopolist will be free and some other coin will rapidly take it, more likely it would be Ethereum. But all that will happen after a huge and depressive dip
The discussion is a bit creepy and the discussion is open by the user itself: v, I think if logic where cryptocurrency is decentral so if bitcoin die the possibility altcoin not die but only decrease confidence in crypto, think furthermore what is the reason bitcoin can die?

I believe bitcoin is a bellwether, so if it dies it will, bare minimum, have a devastating impact on the cryptocurrency market as a whole. Thankfully, the odds of bitcoin dying are extremely small to nonexistent.

I don't think that if bitcoin dies , altcoins will die . In place of bitcoin will come one of the altcoins . For example Etherium

Bitcoin is a very popular crypto coin today, we know that Bitcoin will be very expensive in the future but I imagine if Bitcoin die, whether there will be hope for the future of altcoin? because most altcoin exchanges are to bitcoins
your opinion is highly appreciated. Smiley

Every cryptocurrency uses different technologies, so it would be wrong to say that all cryptocurrency will be destroyed. It is possible that the cryptocurrency that works with the technology infrastructure used in Bitcoin is likely to die, but I can clearly state that the cryptocurrency used with the different infrastructures will not die. I can give the answer "Doomsday" to ask how the market is affected. If there is a possible situation, the market volume will suffer very serious losses.

"I don't think Bitcoin is going to die. Rather the better question is where does it stop?" 90 Percent of Altcoins Won’t Survive But Bitcoin Is Sustainable.
Altcoins are springing up on a daily basis, you might have noticed that they appear pretty regularly in the lists of CoinMarketCap. However, Ethereum Classic's Charles Hoskinson predicts that as much as 90 percent of altcoin will probably die out in the near future. so definitely if bitcoin is stop then the project of altcoin will also stop.

Altcoins defenitely would be hit hard in that case but not die. Many ICO depends on bitcoin as their payment. ETH is a strong candidate next to bitcoin and it can surpass what the Bitcoin have achieved so far.

Here we are talking about "if" the bitcoin dies. I'm sure with his proven blockchain technology that even if bitcoin dies, I'm sure the other coin will not die, it could be if the dead bitcoin might switch to ethereum or even litecoins. But with so much resistance to crypto, now I do not know cryptocurrency will last long or not, prices keep falling now and there is no sign of prices going up anytime soon.

I don't think so, it would only decrease in value but will not really die or be out of the cryptocurrency.  And one of possible reason is when people change their preference to bitcoin and decided to invest on different altcoins,  therefore when this happens altcoins will prosper instead of dying.  And i believe this is very possible that one day there may be other altcoin in their that may take the lead position in cryptocurrency.

I think the altcoin will not die, but it is likely that the prices of all markets will be red forever. I hope that is when ETH will replace Bitcoin and will be a new king in the Crypto market. I think so

Of course! If bitcoin dies, expect every other alt do die along with it. But what makes you think that bitcoin is dying? The fact is that bitcoin has never been so sound in the history of its existence and is on the verge of going mainstream.

Bitcoin is a popular crypto currency no doubt and i don't believe that Bitcoin will ever dies and if eventually dies it will be really difficult for altcoins to survive since many of them has a different term and technology.

Bitcoin won't die probably but if something bad happen to Bitcoin most of altcoins will be useless.
Bitcoin is the main crypto currency. These alts don't even have a pair against USD.

It is necessary to understand the question more deeply. If BTC dies, then most likely will die and the entire cryptomarket. Maybe its a pessimistic mood, but its probably true.
