For now the easiest way to control bitcoin is through exchanges. They totally deanonymizes users. So, for now it is the weakest point of bitcoin. As soon we will pass scaling problems anonymizing solutions will be implemented. In Japan and Korea bitcoin is officially recognized, other countries planning to do their own cryptocurrencies. So, even some countries will ban bitcoin it will not have huge influence. Price does not matter at all, bitcoin became bitcoin only because of it unique properties. If you are considering bitcoins success through it price you are wrong. Market is very thin and it is relatively easy to dump or pump. What matters - decentralized properties, independence, security, immutability. Forget about price, about governments and other bullshit, follow it development and properties that is what tell you what to do with it.
I do agree. Governments can only control exchanges but it cannot stop bitcoin from being a bitcoin after all. But based on a certain law, "every action has an opposite reaction" If that happens, when government starts to control local exchanges. I think it will also affects it's price which made bitcoin special and unique. So I disagree that price doesn't matter after all. I believe price always matter, even at all things. But I think other countries won't follow what kind of idiotic things China did. But if that happens, we just have accept it. We can't do anything else, but to follow.

The action of the Chinese to somewhat curb bitcoin activity in their country is uncalled for. But being the government, we can't do anything but to follow the rules they have set. If they want to ban ICO's, fine, exchange ok as well. But they can stop bitcoin from flourishing again? I doubt. If the Chinese government is really waging a war against bitcoin, its gonna be futile. What the Chinese investors can do is just moved around their bitcoin to other exchanges and they can still do their trading. I'm pretty sure that other countries will not follow the Chinese, but in the bright side its gonna be a perfect opportunity for another country to step up what the Chinese market has left.

I am very positive that this will not happened after all. For as long as bitcoin is being used well, these deeds will accumulate what it deserves. Usually people in the government leading them are those not really aware of the new things we have now in our society. By just educating them perhaps will help.
I will second this statement as we all know the uprising of the bitcoins internationally. A time will come when there will be more profit in transactions through bitcoins over other fiat currencies so the governments will themselves try tomerge their businesses into it.

Government has a power to banned bitcoin in the country and only government can do that, that is why much better if bitcoin would be legalize in every country to lessen the negative doubt in bitcoin. Also if bitcoin is already fully adopted more investors got interest in bitcoin and they will help to increase the demand of bitcoin and it will reflect on the value.

This is a serious discussion. I mean, after I've seen how bitcoin (and other cryptos as well) got dumped badly after an irrelevant law that makes ICOs illegal. I can only imagine now what would happen If more countries do the same thing and It could get worst by make itself bitcoin illegal. Whether we like to admit it or not, most of people would sell everything they have once its made illegal, some may continue to fight the central banking but the sad reality is that as soon as people start making profits, they will dump it and move on.
Ofcourse it is not impossible for people to stop in bitcoin specially when the government really want to stop bitcoin and make it illegal, we can not do something about it. As of now, not all countries really accept bitcoin thats why almost all of the people there are not subscribing or using bitcoin because it has no exchanger at all. So we can see that if the government will forbid bitcoin and force us so stop it, we will be really forced to stop it.

I don't agree much with that but it will be hard for them to make it 100% unavailable in any country. But if the government will make a new one with low fees and more secured one and have much chance to profit 2x more, after brainwashing they're own citizens about bitcoin as a criminal money. I think they will have a chance but the question is how many years? That will be a hard question to answered. But I will provide a hint, a century. So in short they can try but will never taste success.

If by 'stop' you mean 'terminate' it, it's not possible 100%. But they can regulate it by law, although it will remain decentralized by concept, but it will be centralized when you are willing to 'cash out' your coins.

Well this it completely possible. BUT I am optimistic because: - Japan has accepted it as an official currency
- It looks like india will follow japan
- Why would China regulate ICO´s, but Ban BTC ?
- Even Goldman Sachs has admitted the blockcaintech is awesome
- Look at the total crypto market cap, this is not like a small thing. At the moment it is ~ 140.000.000.000 USD. So you can´t just prohibit it now, prohibition would cause a chaos, and everyday the Cryptocurrency support grows

It is not that easy to stop bitcoin, it is different with ICO where the supports is still small, bitcoin got a world wide users and most of the users are hi tech people, and I believe they can find away to make bitcoin alive, but if government banned bitcoin it will affected bitcoin price a lot
No, I don’t think so that government can stop bit coin after all because it’s unstoppable crypto currency in which a lot tech lovers are interested and is popular among the people of all fields. If ever it happens that government succeeds in stopping bit coin, they can’t because it is a digital currency that can be accessed from anywhere all around the world.

I stand correct, just another time, the CEO of JPMorgan bank says bitcoin is a fraud and everyone start panic selling. I'm starting to believe that we actually don't need things like TumbleBit, LN etc. in the near future because people don't even know what is bitcoin and what is it really about, we can worry about these features when people are educated.

maybe governments can stop bitcoin but they can not stop people from using bitcoin and people will find another way to keep using bitcoin. governments is only keep watching and research about bitcoin while their searching the opportunity to getting involve in bitcoin because I think they have unlimited resource and asset. but crypto currency especially bitcoin itself can not be stop by any one and it will growth in the future.

There is a possibilities that this would happen. But I'm not agree in this situation that government will stop bitcoin as these days many users are currently involved in bitcoin. And we are aware that some countries bitcoin is already accepted and legal. However, I'm positive that bitcoin would be legal in the future and will exists longer.

Legalizations on the way that it would be accepted on a certain country by means of new payment system just like what we saw on Japan but thinking off that legalizing it on which into a point on making it centralized would really be an impossible thing and on the recent actions of government regarding on ICO and even on bitcoin it does really give some effects but coming to a point on completely stopping it would really be a hard thing.

That would happen if all country ban bitcoin which is not possible since some already accepted bitcoin. Though bitcoin is currently facing problem due to ban in china, there will always be user from another country.

even if the government fights again BTC, it will still evolve
it will just continue trading under the table or via VPN's if sites get blocked.. that's part of the reason Bitcoin is so popular, it can't be controlled by anyone
You are absolutely right dude. The main reason why still bitcoin stand firm and getting more stronger, it is because of the decentralization of bitcoin. Where all government of each country are not able to control it, because they are centralized and bitcoim was unregulated business industry.

I support your stance and we all know the real powers of bitcoins. Bitcoins are really unstoppable and no country is going to stop them from ruling the world. Bitcoins are soon going to be made legal and we all are in few years using them for international transactions. These small hurdles can’t do any bad to bitcoins.

nothing can stop the bitcoin even though the government. says that bill gates bitcoin never ends. and more investors bitcoin will not stop losing the bitcoin and many will be crazy when bitcoin is lost. I still have no reason to want to lose the bitcoin and want to control the government.
