Hi BitSyncom,

I ordered on Oct 6th, order #200000573, and paid in BTC right afterwards.  I see that Batch 2 orders are being received, and I think that at this point, it would be fair for someone at Avalon to look into the status of my Batch 1 order.

I appreciate any time you can spend looking into this and I look forward to hearing back from you.

IF I ask what happened to the trade-in and batch #2, I don't think it's off-topic. It's all the same topic: incompetent in delivering the  product on time and taking care of every customers.

melmo that's terrible, if this can be confirmed then should they not be given a scammer tag?

It's an awful shame, everyone else has had theirs for quite a while.

I wonder if you where ripped off by someone changing the delivery address? there was a thread on here by someone saying that their shipment had almost been stolen in this manner.

It's very odd that they are completely ignoring all requests for information and help. If it where my company I would be doing everything to find out what had happened if you where my customer.

I'd like to think that I haven't been scammed, and any day now the doorbell will ring and some DHL guy will be there, but ya, I sent Avalon over 100 BTC which would now be valued at over $13,000 and a month or two of lost mining revenue, which probably adds up to another $20,000.

I'm not sure how I would even be able to figure out if someone changed my delivery address.  I was calling up DHL every day for awhile, but no packages ever showed up in their system for me, and without a tracking# there isn't a lot they can do.

Based on the date that you started your thread, and the date you received your unit, it's possible they shipped it after the thread was created. Hopefully it's a similar story for melmo? Not ideal, but it could be worse...

It could be in the hands of Canadian Customs.  I understand they have been intercepting a lot of shipments lately.

Here is an example of a shipment I sent to a Canadian eBay customer on 22-April that still has not arrived:

http://www.canadapost.ca/cpotools/apps/track/personal/findByTrackNumber?trackingNumber=LZ412134221US

In my case it was a cheap item, so I'm shipping the customer a replacement and hoping it makes it.

And the worst part is when the customer calls Canada Post, they will tell him there is NOTHING they can do.
It will stay in Customs until it is released.  If he calls Canada Customs they will tell him to call Canada Post.

UPS/Fedex/DHL is better.

So what is UPS/Fedex/DHL able to do that Canada Post is not?

They have a private broker who processes the packages through customs for them.  Consequently they will have better real-time stats regarding the status of your package.

It doesn't matter if you send a support ticket or email Yifu. He won't respond. Before I got my Avalon, I attempted both multiple times and got no response.

Here's the link to the support site: http://support.avalon-asic.com/support/login, but as tripper22 said, no one seems to actually be at the other end reading the tickets.

Would you mind posting where you opened your support ticket exactly? I have tickets opened 4 month and 3 weeks ago, both are in 'being processed' state ever since. Maybe this mess is all a horrible mistake and most of us just used the wrong support forum address  Huh

I called DHL yesterday, still nothing coming my way.  Does anyone in Canada who received their order remember if it was shipped DHL Express, DHL Global or DHL Global Forwarding?  According the DHL guy I spoke with on the phone yesterday, there are different divisions of DHL, each with different tracking numbers.

Of course, if Avalon would give me a tracking number I could avoid all of this...

Yes.  They clear packages before they put them on their planes/trucks destined to Canada.
When they arrive, they are already cleared.  Ready for delivery.

USPS works with Canada Post.  A Crown corporation  Wink  Enough said.

UPS/Fedex/DHL has a "special" relationship with Canada Customs.  They clear packages electronically.  Well, 95+% of them.

I'm sure they use scanners, so don't get any ideas.

So it sounds like it's not possible that my order is stuck at customs, because it would be shipped via DHL.

BitSyncom, help!  Being an engineer, I put my faith and money into Avalon...

This is beyond horrible. I cringe a this kind of stuff. This is a lot of money we are talkign about here and Avalon is not taking it seriously. How hard is it to give a simple update about everything. NOT HARD AT ALL. Just tweet "Avalon batch 2 should be ready to ship in 2 weeks" or something. It's really not that hard.

Could it be, that the unit was delivered, but got lost in the process?

I certainly hope not... last week when I called into DHL, the call center guy was pretty helpful and ran several searches for me and didn't find anything destined to my postal code for the last 3 months (since March).

Did you try to call EMS? It was reported several times, that Avalon Team sent units by wrong shipper...

I'd like to think that Yifu indeed shipped you something, but it's out of their hands and there's nothing they could do about it. Now, if DHL screwed up and won't pony up, you could be SOL. If it returns to Avalon, then they'll send it back to you I'm sure.

It seemed like a good idea at the time.

It would be nice to think that, but I don't see anyone else jumping up and down, as they would be, if they got their shipment.  Where does this leave us?  Are we destined to allow the large players and companies to take control?  How can bitcoin stay decentralized if the only miners we can get have negative ROI?
This is awful!!

If they would use ponys for delivery, then I would understood that it takes 3 month....

You can always buy BTC directly if the current mining options aren't appealing.

I haven't tried calling EMS... I know other deliveries to Canada were sent via DHL, but I guess it's worth a shot!

Ponys that can't even swim might take less time... Actually, right now it I feel like they are using unicorns to deliver my unit Smiley

It's for this type of thing that I just moved their shipment date back 3 months on my list.  I hope this is just incompetence in the face of great difficulty, unlike BFL.

You'd think they'd be able to hire a few customer support people with that $8 million.

I'd love to move their shipment time back up.  Come on guys, please respond, everyone wants to hear some good news.

This lack of response sounds like bad news.

Canada seems like the problem child for Avalon shipping doesn't it?

Wow, I figured that the folks in China would have been shipped first, just because it should be easier.

My customer mentioned above sent me a note on 14-June saying "Package was received thank you, and then a couple days later the first one was also recieved, it looked like it was in a fire or something, came  with a note with an apology from the postal service apologizing for the damage.."

Received the Avalon yesterday.  After 8 and a half months of waiting.

The feeling is bittersweet Smiley

(By the way, the tracking number I received from Avalon was not even close to the actual number, not sure what's up with that)

It was at customs for a few days.  It got shipped on Saturday, all in all, it got to me pretty fast.
