Hello!

Would there be a possibility to manually add miners?

There are plenty of them beside claymore and there are more efficient ones..

Simple and nice GUI - would love to use the software

I agree with another poster that phoenix miner would be great. I've had better results with Phoenix over Claymore...

@All: All pending balances were released, this issue was solved early today/

@mrtats: Thanks a lot for helping with the explanation! You are right, BetterHash estimates the value of one share based on data that it receives from the pool. Let's say we know all our users made 100 shares and the pool tells us it will send 5 ZEC (for example). The pool continuously changes this estimation (the amount usually increases) but it can also get down because of stale shares. An interesting detail: soon after a payment is received the fluctuations are higher; as we get close to the next payment from the pool all values become more stable. Smiley

Sorry for the late answer - we need to cover a lot of communication channels:  BitcoinTalk, Facebook and our ticketing system.

That makes sense now that you explained it haha.
But atleast you do first hand communication with users!

Hello everyone! BetterHash updated all XMR miners (CPU, GPU NVIDIA and GPU AMD) and they all support Cryptonight v7. All incompatible miners have been automatically replaced and we are now using XMRig.

The latest version has been pushed as an automatic update. In case you somehow missed the auto update - you can get BetterHash from the link below.

https://www.betterhash.net/

New update released today! On some AMD rigs the XMRig-amd miner was incorrectly started. The problem has been solved and the update is available here:

https://www.betterhash.net/bh/download/

Daniel

The NVidia XMR miner has been updated once again. Version 2.49 of BetterHash (released today) replaces XMRig with CCMiner-KlausT. The new release improves the benchmarking process and solves a few minor stability issues. Download link below:

https://www.betterhash.net/bh/download/

Daniel

We just released version 2.51.

The NVidia XMR miner should be working ok now. We replaced XMRig-NVidia with CCminer (KlausT version). You might notice that a new application named "cons.exe" appears to be running instead of the miner; this happens because the new XMR miner is not offering any kind of speed monitoring API and we had to improvise one. Smiley

Enjoy!

Hi everyone,

As most of you may have already noticed, we've added a new feature in your online dashboards. Cool

Don't want to constantly check if your funds reached the minimum withdrawal amount? We've got you covered with the BTC Automatic Withdrawal option.

All you have to do is set the wallet where you'd like to receive your BTC and we'll send it to you. The transfers will be made once a day, at 8 AM GMT for those that surpassed the minimum withdrawal limit. If you don't want to withdraw at the lowest withdrawal threshold, you can choose a different limit, from the other 5 options available.

BetterHash Team

P.S. Manual withdrawals are still available.

Do you have phoenixminer for ETH ?
JCE miner for cryptonight (V7, heavy...) CPU mining ?

We tried PhoenixMiner for ETH in the past and the results were not so good when compared to Claymore, and we decided to stick with it. For XMR mining we are using XMRig for the CPU and AMD GPUs and CCMiner (KlausT) for NVidia GPUs. All our XMR miners are of course using Cryptonight V7.

We test new miners very often and, when something better comes along - we gladly add it. Wink

Thanks a lot! We'll be testing these days both PhoenixMiner and BMiner.

Daniel

While testing PhoenixMiner we noticed the following:

0% increase for the AMD GPUs when compared to Claymore
1% increase for the NVidia GPUs when compared to Claymore

It's true that Phoenix's fee is 0.65% - and this is a good thing. We'll test it a bit more and look for stability issues. Any feedback on Claymore vs. Phoenix from other users would be welcome.

In order to offer continuous service and prevent server downtime, today we added an additional routing server. Now, there are 2 routing servers and at least 3 backup pools for each coin. In case of a network failure, after a few reconnection attempts, the miners will reconnect through the secondary server.

You can download the latest release form the link below or wait for the automatic update.

Hi,

I don't think the issue is on BetterHash's side. I suspect that the latest Windows update (the antivirus update) is the one causing this. Also, did you reinstall Betterhash by using the setup file on our site, or did you simply copy the folder?

Daniel

@Avarice1of2

We discovered and corrected the bug. Everything should be ok now! Sorry about that!

The fact that it's generating less shares has nothing to do with the OS install. Since the pool increased the difficulty even our own miners are generating less shares than before. ZEC increased its value a lot over the past weeks and it became more attractive for miners. More miners lead to a network difficulty increase. As long as the number of shares reported by the miner (running it visible on the screen) is the same as the number that appears in your BetterHash online account - everything is ok.

ZEC is now under ASICs control
https://shop.bitmain.com/product/detail?pid=00020180503154806494uGcSyiu806FD
Hashing algorithm: Equihash
Power consumption: 300W
Hashrate: 10k Sol/s ± 5%

https://www.anythingcrypto.com/guides/antminer-z9-mini-profitability-2018
Comparing this against existing GPUs, the Z9 Mini seems to offer around 13.3x more hashpower per unit than a GTX 1080 Ti, but is more expensive upfront. A comparison of the two:

1080 Ti:

    740H/s at 200-240W, upfront cost of $700
    $9,500 upfront cost for 10kH/s
    2,970W power usage at 10kH/s

Z9 Mini:

    10,000H/s at 300W, upfront cost of $1,999
    $1,999 upfront cost for 10kH/s
    300W power usage at 10kH/s

And ZEC won't fork the algo. ZEC mining is dead with anything but ASICs. Switch for forked Equihash coins.

Thank you for writing.

As far as we know things are moving in the right direction regarding making the ZCash mining algorithm (Equihash) ASIC-resistant again:

https://z.cash.foundation/blog/statement-on-asics/
https://blog.z.cash/zcash-company-statement-on-asics/

Regarding the release of the ZCash ASIC miners: Bitmain has announced they shipped 77 units on the 29th of May:

https://twitter.com/BITMAINtech/status/1001376036985028608
https://blog.bitmain.com/en/antiminer-z9-mini-shipments-experiment-radical-transparency/

As of today they are probably on route and many of them are probably not mining yet.

Total ZCash network hash rate is currently ~ 520,000 kH/s according to https://www.coinwarz.com/network-hashrate-charts/zcash-network-hashrate-chart

The 77 devices shipped by Bitmain will add 77 x 10.0 kH/s = 770 kH/s

That will increase the current network hash rate by 0.15%, which means they will have an insignificant impact on difficulty and profitability of ZCash GPU mining.

Of course, many people say that Bitmain also has thousands of ASIC machines already mining for them in secret. I don't know about this - it seems more like a conspiracy theory.

In case ZCash mining profitability drops, we at BetterHash plan to mine other coins Smiley

There will be no fork, the dev is against it whatever the fundation wants. There has been a heated debate in the Zcash forum.

Some members already have their Z9 running.
