So after all why this Slack channel was deleted?
They say there are too much scammers.
Quite a rational decision, it can't be moderated in a proper way.
Can't be moderated by the LAT team? Grin
Its purpose is being a comfortable place for a few trusted friends/colleagues to discuss their projects.
That is hardly an excuse.
It's not an excuse indeed. It's a platform drawback, so the team has to select something which is moderated in easy way.
Discord!
Discord is not an ideal too.
There's a dilemma: to counter scammers a moderator should know what is being PMed, but to secure the privacy one can't allow moderators to see PMs.
And you can't just turn off the PMs, because you need sometimes to discuss something with your fellow Indonesian and it's not approved by the team.
Discord allows to turn off PMs actually.
Remember that Bitcoin is still beta software. Don't put all of your money into BTC!

I don't think it's because of their inability to cope with moderation. They do it perfectly in their Telegram channel.
They just prohibit everyone from posting all kinds of links.
Not all kinds, just these which are suspicious.
And who decides which are suspicious?
The God himself I suppose. Just in case.
Such a funny joke. So who decides?
M O D E R A T O R
Guys please don't start that crap again...
It's not me who starts it over and over!
Yeah, the fault is entirely mine.
Undoubtedly so.

The criteria is quite obvious.
For me they are not.

Hm. I have posted some news links and everything was OK.
What kind of excuse do you need to post links?
Well, just not to post referral links and ICO or scam ads.
Why can't I post a referral link? It's in my best interests to help a poor guy to make everything right.
Yeah, just as in every contributor's best interests. Guess what a hell the chat could turn into if that would be allowed?

What exactly isn't obvious for you, armaan?
There are these types of links prohibited:
  • ICOs
  • Referral links
  • Scam
I think it's easy to classify every disallowed link into one of these categories.

But not all the PMs. "Friends" still can PM, and we sometimes feel so lonely and need a friend so much...
Social engineering may be used in every situation. And there are people who believe everyone too easily.
It's strange though. Why do you enter the cruel and beautiful world of cryptocurrency if you're so confiding and gullible? It's a free market, anarcho-capitalism. Homo homini lupus est.
Not everyone knows what the darkness is.
Please stop ignoring me.
