3rd November. Nothing happens other than empty promises. The original scam continues as more 3rd party scammers jump on the BTG train. Well done folks. This will be valuable case study for the future.

4rd of November. Nothing happens.................................
There`s still not even a wallet out there yet

I just took a few minutes and figured out with certainty how to generate BTCG paper wallets before any wallet exists.

If you got to Shatoshi labs GitHub, it has a list of coins who have applied for a BIP44 coin key and their coin number. BTCG registered and got number 156. Now, if you go to the Coinomi Mnemonic Generator and generate a phrase - It doesn't matter which coin you choose first, because all that does is change the "Coin" number under the Derivation Path. Now, manually input 156 into the "Coin" field, and you will get m/44'/156'/0'/0 as your BIP32 derivation field, which is what BTCG will be using. Now just grab your private key, mnemonic phrase, and first couple public addresses. You're good to go. If you do it correctly your public addresses should begin with an A or a G.

Shatoshi labs GitHub: https://github.com/satoshilabs/slips/blob/master/slip-0044.md
Coinomi Mnemonic Generator: https://coinomi.com/recovery-phrase-tool.html

Edit: Also, the coinomi generator can be saved locally and used without any internet connection to generate paper wallets for many coins on a non internet connected PC for complete safety! Plus there is a testnet to test mining on now if you look at the twitter. Claymore Zcash miner for AMD. EWBF Zcash miner for NVIDIA. Both working perfectly.

Cheers!

I tried.
Public address begin by a 1...

Derivation path is good

I store my BTC on coinomi,  gladly they support BTG but it's still non-transferable until the full launch of BTG.

Where can I create a Bitcoin Gold Address?
I want to use it for mining.
Please beware of the scammers on Twitter that do post sites where you can create a wallet!

download the bgoldd and run it, don't worry there is no blockchain, so its just a "git clone", and then run, then

type "bgold-cli getnewaddress"

This bgoldd doesn't do anything, like it does support "gettemplateblock" so it can't be used for mining, its hard coded to only work in -testnet mode

Then you will have your address, your address, do not accept one from a 'wallet' site.

Oct 25 'fork' came and went, nov-1 came and went, still no software, no block, no wallet and no gui, not much of anything, but promises

but hell the price is high and holding ... ?

shit is the new gold, vaporware is the new treasure

this shit coin doesn't even support zaddresses, its just a piss-poor clone copy of BTC that uses equihash for POW,

but once again nothing works

No need to compile ?

Right. Even the worst shitcoins had some sort of wallets available @ github etc since day 1.. It's very strange to say the least  Grin that BTG still has nothing

Hello,

Does anybody know which wallets plan to support the Bitcoin Gold (BTG) friendly fork on October 1st? And what, if anything, should be done by the user?
Ay, bitcoin gold sucks. It's whole hype went down in vain. All efforts and capital invested in it didn't get what was expected and it's team is so very new that it can't be trusted, just because it has a precessor of bitcoin in it. There is a need for more info about bitcoin gold as well as the team. And keeping it in your wallet will be risky, one it's because of the replay attack possibility and DDOS attack that occurred on the first day of release of bitcoin gold.
That was very much expected. Was there even any hype about the coin. The coin already sounded shitty and everything about its security totally raised a lot of questions in the first instance.  Just watch out until most people even get a hold of their coin and then end up dumping it. Then you will realize how worthless it is going to become and I really wonder if any one would want to mine the coin.

The more humiliating one is, more such forks and coins are being planned and in pipeline to be released. Anyway it is free money yet I feel not good for investor's point of view.

Yeah just remember that we're just getting a free coin so nothing to hurry about.
Me too is also waiting for my coins to arrive, I store my btc in coinomi wallet and been expecting that what happened in bch will happen again in btg like they just have an announcement if the coin is already available.
Shitcoin or not still this always sounds money to me ( because it's free ) but definitely not gonna buy back this coin.

Happy Coding Life Smiley

Just make use of their official site https://btcgpu.org though it has been renamed to https://bitcoingold.org but you will be redirected anyway.
That is where you can find the list of all the wallets and exchanges accepting BTG. Anything outside that, then you should be weary and stay clear off it. Since you are creating it for mining, then you can just make use of coinomi or freewallet.

New blog post, november 5
https://bitcoingold.org/bitcoin-gold-daily-update-testnet-participation-launch/
On the last page of "Bitcoin Gold Testnet Participation Manual":
"... the hard deadline (Nov 8 12:00 UTC) ..."
So the main net launch may not happen until wednesday 8/11.
