Hello,

Does anybody know which wallets plan to support the Bitcoin Gold (BTG) friendly fork on October 1st? And what, if anything, should be done by the user?

Bitcoind Gold is airdrop. you have btc, you have btg.

Well I got everything ready for the start of Bitcoin Gold yesterday. I moved my Bitcoin to a new wallet, and was ready to import my BTG from seed into the online BTG wallet.
I had the deposit page of Bitfinex ready to generate an address too.

14h later, the online wallet still isn't working and no deposit addresses can be made on bitfinex.  What a joke.

I guess I will just have to sit on them for a while, at least Bitcoin proper is recovering!

Yea, I was ready to solo mine from start, gues what - finished downloading blockchain today morning, after devs premined all juice.
Look at the explorer http://btgexp.com:8080/richlist - top 4 have 40% :-D

this is a perfect example of how the trump tax cut to the corporations and the other 80% tax benefits to the top 1%..it will all trickle down to the rest of us from those 4 right?

I mean it is the right thing to do to promote bitcoin (like the Trump plan to promote the economy)

right? Is that not how capitalism works....help the needy first..then get your Lambo?

sniffle

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)

I tried to do the trick where you just copy over a version of your Bitcoin Core ~/.bitcoin folder from before the fork date (so you don't need to resync the entire blockchain, this worked for the Bitcoin Cash fork) and it did not work for me here with Bitcoin Gold.

Should it have?

Yeah, that didn't work for me either.  The best I could come up with was bootstrapping from my Bitcoin node (running and listening on the default port 8333).  The command I used was
Code:
$ ./bgoldd -rpcport=8339 -connect=localhost:8333 -bootstrap -skiphardforkibd
This took about an hour.  I was able to check my progress with:
Code:
$ ./bgold-cli -rpcport=8339 getinfo

Working for me using -bootstrap, lets hope i can sync with the network in next few hours, so that i can start a mining a test pool for mainnet

Has anyone come across an exchange that already allows BTG deposits? I have tried the Bitfinex, Yobit, Belutrade and Hitbtc, but none of them allow deposits...

Do i really have to download the full blockchain for running BTG Node and can not use the BTC blockchain from a date before the fork ?

is there any way to import the privkey into a online BTG wallet and send it to a exchange ?
My privkeys no longer cointain BTC or BCcash, only BTG

is there anyone started to trade this bitcoingold already? i am trying to buy some and withdraw some but the transaction seem to stuck there.

the mainnet have launched right? have anyone started to mine this bitcoingold already?

i hope this bitcoingold wont be another useless coins as right now it seems like bitcoin is fighting with bitcoincash.

Translation: Where can I dump this shit N0w!

Yep here we go: statement on Suprnova:

Be aware that there's currently a chain-split happening and suprnova's chain could be "declared" as the wrong chain by the dev-team. However, it's the longest chain so usually it should be okay, it's advisable to not invest in mining until the devs give out an official statement. (Watch Twitter)

Oh goodie, centralized now as well. Devs decide what chain they want lol. There is a longest chain rule for a reason.

Is this whole project just a scam??

now your catching on.

It just gets better and better  Grin

Scam for those poor souls who will buy this **** from "devs" once they finish premining and send their coins to exchanges for the dumping. Be assured no one will be able to dump before "devs" sell all their coins Smiley

What's the profit mining it compared to ETH?

Whattomine doesn't show BTG yet

And I guess it's a good thing (assuming it's still profitable). Once it's on Whattomine, it'll attract more miners.

And still, it's anybody's guess what the price will be in a month or two. It may cost $20 or $2000, we all know how quickly things happen in crypto world.
