Is it like having my wallet on a peice of paper?
If i ever manage to buy some bitcoin i have them sent to the address on the cheque?
And there is no trace of the transaction on my computer?

You could use it as a paper wallet, I suppose. The idea is that it's a paper wallet you can hand to someone like a cheque.

Now i think i am getting it..How would i cash the cheque or move the coins to an online wallet to spend them?

Thanks for your time BTW..I am really not technicly minded as is obvious..lol

MTGox, and possibly others, have "redeem private key" options, where you input the private key, and it uses that to grab the coins.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Sounds easy.
One more stupid question.lol

If i was meeting some one to buy bitcoins with cash and they were to load the cheque, if so how would i know the coins were succsesfully loaded or would it be purley be down to trust and best not used for this kind of transaction?

go to internet cafe or use your cellphone to check the bitcoin address (via http://www.blockchain.info or http://blockexplorer.com ) to see if anything in there

that someone will probably send btc via cellphone, so he/she would show you the above website to check and confirm the btc

Thanks..I really do like the idea and the sharia banking very much..I certainly want to give bitcoin a go when i manage to get some i would like some cheques..How can i buy some?

Well, you can verify the funds are in the cheque by checking the address. The blockchain is public, and you can look at the address on the cheque at any time.

1,000 shares @  ~ 0.30 btc ,enough to develop a proper website + server costs + invest in some mining shares to get dividends

Why not 500 @ 0.6, which is close to the current price? 0.3 is below what I paid for the shares I own.

Why not 10000 at .6? Think big!

I agree that something like the average price of the past month or something would be a fairer price.

So you lost 43.5 bitcoins due to default in August. Why are you paying out dividends?

IBB is only making an average profit of 2 BTC per month - if you have zero defaults and you cannot count on that.

Read the report again. That's an annual total.

The report is very unclear.  Does this mean that the net income for the entire year is 3.84 BTC?    The accounting in general is very hard to follow.

Are these total dividends the dividends paid out to IBB shareholders for the entire year?

Total Dividends paid = 46.11886 BTC
 Default = -43.50 BTC
Average Net Income = 3.84 BTC

What is the D column in the report?  What does the 5.04 BTC value represent?

Total is the total for all 12 months.
Average is the total for all 12 months, divided by 12 to get an average.

It's plenty clear to me.

Code:
A               B                 C                  D
------------------------------------------------------------
From/To         Description       Net change +/-     Balance
------------------------------------------------------------

This should be familiar to anyone who has ever balanced a checkbook.

And if you can't balance a checkbook, what are you doing investing in stocks? That's like trying to run before you can crawl.

(I hear the objections now - "But I use a debit card!" - To which I say: It's the same format used by the bank statements. You DO read those, right?)
