In my opinion, no 'best' ICOs at the moment. I want an ICO with a good plan how I the investor I will get profit in the future when the software will be ready. Maybe the only ICO it did this is the Lykke and maybe the TenX is in a good way!. I'm not say I'm a specialist to all ICOs but from my experience I still wait for a really professional ICO to come and invest on it. Did you watch their pitch?  The main benefits that they were pitching were Ethereum's.  Utilities and consumers might as well use Ether.  Why bother with Grid+ tokens?

They criticize existing energy retailers as:
1. archaic administrative processes
2. marketing to get more customers
3. writing off uncollectible debt

How will Grid+ be able to do #1 better?  How will Grid+ be able to avoid #2 and #3?  None of the people on Grid+'s team has ever sold energy to consumers before.

They brag about Ethereum reaching consensus every 15 seconds.  How is that a selling point?  Also, Ethereum is getting bogged down.

Where is the evidence that utility companies will sell energy directly to consumers via Grid+ instead of their existing channel?   Where is the evidence that utility companies want to accept Grid+ tokens as payment?

They stacked their team with every Tom, Dick and Harry that they can find and they can't produce some software for us to use?

The way pension funds are managed and administered is very complex.  Acutus.org wants to replace the way employers do this.  To do this, you need a corporate sales force with highly paid sales reps, inside sales and technical sales support, who know how to sell complicated solutions to multiple people in an organization, that take months or years to close.  No company is going to replace the way they manage pensions just because some startup wrote some smart contracts.

Centra wants to do the same thing as Monaco, TenX and Change Bank.  This space is getting too crowded.

Anryze wants to do speech recognition?  They want to compete against Google?  Good luck.  And the need for a new coin to do this is not compelling.

It's a bet on mass adoption imo. If they succeed with their mobile miner, i.e. it doesn't drain battery, it could attract millions of users within a short time span. Every year there's an app or two that goes viral. In particular parts of the world, mining 5-10 dollars (or whatever it is) a month could be significant.

If they don't succeed with this, it's nothing. The project aims to attract non-crypto people to use crypto

I disagree with you that "None of those points are serious pain points for any Facebook user." I think you didn't investigate the project deep enough.

I'll just concentrate on one point (No.8 "Reward the community with SocialX tokens").

How about you ask 10 of your friends would they move to another social network if somebody would guarantee them to be paid coupons (tokens) exchangeable for real money for the likes they get for their content. They could even like each others content and get paid for it (10 superlikes per person per period - probably per day). And all that money wouldn't come from their pocket, but from one giant pool full of cash that gets filled in by transaction fees, advertisers etc. Maybe try telling them this way: Tell them what if most of that money that facebook earns from them and that made Zuckerberg so rich - how about most of it being split to all users depending on the popularity and quality of their content. Tell them what if they would get an opportunity to get on such social network and they can get to join early and have a lot of time and little competition to build their popularity. That's like getting a profile of Kardashians that would be paid for every - in this case superliked - post, like Kardashians get paid for theirs. They just need to build their friends list and popularity up - and they get paid along the way. And, more popular any post they make - more $. And all that with no government censorship, latest and best privacy standards etc.

And they don't have to pay anything ever to get and keep that account indefinitely.

I think a lot of them would want to switch and even "aggressively" ask their friends to switch because that would get them more superlikes (more money).

Nobody is going to go through the hassle of moving all of their data to another app, AND try to convince all of their 300 friends to move, for $18 / year. The only way their 300 friends will move is if each of them convinces all of their 300 friends each, to move as well, and on and on and on.

Also, Facebook only started generating $18 per user per year. Four years ago, they were generating $4 per user per year. As their user base grows, more advertisers join in.

When you have 100,000 users, you won't make $400,000 of ad revenue per year. You'll make close to ZERO.

So, for your friends to be willing to spend the time and go through the hassle of moving to another app, they will make near zero dollars for the first several years. They can only expect to make $18 per year, IF AND ONLY IF, the app EXPLODES and becomes as huge as Facebook.

A new crypto currency only make sense when they help users save a lot of money or time, as in the case of remittances (eliminating Western Union) or gambling (eliminating high fees on each bet and eliminating multiple days to withdraw money).

I agree about Auctus. Pension administration is a great use-case for the blockchain, but it's a market that'll be very difficult to enter. Not only are you dealing with corporate clients, but you have beneficiaries that are counting on their pensions and/or 401ks for their retirement. The optics of having a startup manage this process for you will make it a very tough sell.

I also know for a fact that one of the largest pension funds in the world is already exploring the blockchain for administration purposes. I don't know what their specific solution is, but I know that their risk/compliance department would have issue with utilizing a startup.

That pool I mentioned is intended to start as being full, but still no huge gains of course. How much? I don't know. One can only speculate. Whatever happens it will be free money for those that use the platform. Free money is always good. Why is it necessary to move all friends... tons of other successful "small" messaging apps, social networks that have a different and/or small subset of contacts... Facebook, instagram and others they all started small and than built on top of that. Many very similar and existing projects failed, but they made it. These guys at SocialX clearly state in their whitepaper what is expected user count they expect to have in the incoming years. It's nowhere near facebook numbers. They are pretty solidly "on the ground". In my second sentence, before anything else, I pointed to that whitepaper. Also, I never said they're going to as big as facebook right away - I very clearly said "...get an opportunity to get on such social network and they can get to join early and have a lot of time and little competition to build their popularity." and "need to build their friends list and popularity up - and they get paid along the way. And, more popular any post they make - more $".. will they become "big"? I don't know. But, IN TIME and I repeat IN TIME, having even a slight possibility of becoming e.g. 1% as big as facebook is HUGE.

Google had a social networking app called Google +. It probably had millions of users. It died because people didn't move their friends over from Facebook to Google.

Get paid? Where is the money going to come from? It has to eventually come from advertisers. Advertisers are not going to advertise unless you have LOTS of users, more than what Google+ had.

I believe that at least 95% of cryptocurrencies and crypto projects will fail or not deliver everything what was promised. At the time, MySpace had not conquered the world yet. There were many social networking sites at the time. Facebook prevailed with a better app. MySpace was way too noisy and hard to read, because they let the users change the HTML. Facebook is now so big that even Google cannot compete. If Google cannot compete, there is LITTLE CHANCE that SocialX or any of the other social network ICOs will be able to compete.

I think the kyber is the best ICO in these days, though the crypto market is on a down period because of some regulations from some counties, but the price is still 4x of the ico price, that is crazy.

Kyber brags that one of its benefits is that it doesn’t hold the users’ tokens. Therefore, the tokens won’t get hacked or stolen. They are implying that if they hold tokens, the tokens can get hacked or stolen.

Then they say that they guarantee high liquidity by “holding reserves of all tokens in the network” that users may want. (They would need to hold TONS of tokens to guarantee high liquidity.) But, they just said that by holding tokens, these tokens can get hacked or stolen.

Their business model is completely flawed.

In regards to CombiCoin, their pitch is that you reduce risk by diversifying. However, they increase risk for you because they have your money and you have to believe that it’s backed by other coins. Tether is doing this already, except they back up USDT with USD. There is already talk that Tether is not backing up USDT with sufficient USD. You’ll never know for sure that CombiCoin’s TRIA is backed up by sufficient coins. Instead, if you went out and bought the other coins on your own, you’ll never need to believe anyone’s claims.

These coins might be good for pump and dumps, but will likely fail in the long run. If you try to do a pump and dump, then you are the scammer.

They are in the "dropcatching" business, which is probably in the millions of dollars worldwide. This is small. If its a multi-billion business, then there would be existing companies making billions. But there aren't.

You just have to due your research. ICO's can still be great, but you have to understand their maybe an initial dip. If you are looking to hold, you can sit back and come out way ahead. Some say wait for that dip, and that can be good advice as well, but then you miss out on the flip potential.
