just need to make a research and find a good quality coin

I would have wanted to buy altcoins especially during ICOs because you can get so cheap coins during that time. A year or two your stock of altcoins could be worth a fortune, if your choice of altcoins are successful. That is then the big problem, how are you going to know that your altcoin will become successful in the long run. Some are even scam from the start and there's no 100% sure way to identify them. Some just failed and just become shitcoins and lose value.

My suggestion is, if you really want to buy altcoins, make a thorough research about the project and ask any expert you know about it and then make a decision for yourself. Investing in altcoins is a gamble after all so don't invest if you cannot afford to lose it.

In my opinion its always a better option to buy some good altcoins to make good profit apart from BTC. There are very good Alt coins in the market, we can buy those & make some good profits from them. Here are details of some good Alt coins: Ethereum, Dash, XRP, XMR, LTC, these are the long run coins. It will also rise because these coins has huge potential to rise in future but I would advice you before buying any coin you should do your research as well.

I favored also altcoins when holding my portfolio. Most of it was in altcoins and only 20% I think, rough estimate was in bitcoin. There are many promising altcoins especially in Etn based platform.

You are the only person that could answer your question because at the end of the day, you are still going to decide if you buy altcoins or not because the peoples decision on which to choose from are their own personal understanding on which would be more profitable to them, so if for you buying altcoins is more profitable then go for it. That's what I did though, bought altcoins then diversify them after.

More important in situations like this still rests on the individual and no one else but there is need to exercise some level of care in all because while some ICOs have turned out to be the best, others have turned out to be the worst of all which is something that have called the attention of government authorities. For me, there are some projects on my radar and its because of the quality of work it entails and the team behind such project.

As an advised in trading Buy only on dip of the said coins. Just set an order and wait. For me, its better to wait and if not being given you can review  your order periodically and set new order to match your your price to buy it.

For me, if you have the money for this kind of investment, i suggest buying altcoins which is new to market because it may multiply your money up to x100 to the initial price. By doing so., you gonna make sure that you will earn even though the other altcoins you've invested in becomes dump.
