Buy altcoins or not?

My personal strategy regarding Altcoins is to invest a small amount into the ones I believe will have an actual long-term use/project associated with them. I try to pick ones with a good amount of initial hype as well so that I can sell 60-75% of them and turning my initial investiment into 110-200% of what I put in.
It is often simple to get a decent return on your investment and keeping a bit of the altcoin for the longer term. many ICOs are for projects that will be finished in mid to late 2018, and their success could make the coin's value grow exponentially.

The altcoin/ICO world is a very interesting hobby and can provide decent gains if played right.

Yes you can buy altcoins. This is a really good investment.
But you should also make efforts on:

• researching (background check to atleast avoid scams),
• reading and understanding each altcoins' aims and purpose and,
• observing which altcoins could be profitable and can go longterm.

You should really be familiar on the altcoin you want to invest on.

THis is good time to buy altcoin but you should buy 50% and kee 50% BTC
There are 2 reasons to keep BTC
- When Altcoin down, you can buy more Alt to get good price
- BTC is safest coin you can get

Buying altcoins is good but we have to pick the right coin because some of the altcoin price is going down when the days passes so good altcoin will give huge profits in long term investment.I suggest Ethereum and litecoin these are the best of altcoins and undervalued so buy these altcoins and you will havr richer future.

No no, x20 in ICOs within short time as few months is impossible. This is ponzi, hyip and you can not call it is ICOs. I agree these projects have opened crowdsale as ICOs, but the fact, the nature of these projects are ponzi and finally, only those who still holding these tokens will become the loser and lose all money.

Of course to buy. Otherwise, how can you earn money? Investing in ICO now is very dangerous. Tokens lose a lot in price when they enter the exchange. You need to look for prospective ICO and buy their tokens with a good discount on the exchange, such as Etherdelta.

I agree with Cowboy, not all ICOs are honest and clean, on the contrary, the majority of them are scam... thus you should choose ICOs with caution and patience.

What concerns to altcoin you should buy ethereum, i believe it will value a lot in 2018, so the time to buy is now. Just buy and hold

I'd say 8/10 ICOs are at least a "latent scam", meaning sometimes not knowingly teams develop a project which is not scalable,
or not applicable for the future situations etc.
But yeah, probably 5/10 are pure scams, so pls do your research people.

Yes it is, because there are some altcoins that are still good to invest in like WAVES, ETHEREUM, XEM, ADX AND LITECOIN, those are for me really worth to invest then Hold in a long term.

I maybe agreed on partaking the promising ICO, because most of us here are doing participating in the in their project and at the same time sometimes we also participate to their ICO too, if we are sure the ico will become successful in the end of the campaign.

Of course buying altcoins is a smart decision if you follow several rules. (These rules are just my and my friend's thoughts).
First of all research the market, especially look at the first 20 coins. coinmarketcap or cryptocompare - are two of my favorite resources to check the coins.
Choose the most interesting ones for you and invest.
Invest the amount of money you are not afraid to lose, because all these activities are very risky and you can lose everything.. I would suggest you to invest 10% of your monthly salary each month for example.

Not this time, did you check how high the market rose ? every coin is now like 4x the value it had on october. most coins are reaching all time heights.

if you were asking about time to sell i would say certainly yes bor bitcoin or ETH. i won't buy anything, i think waiting for a few weeks or a few months before buying ...

who want to buy BTC at 10k$ or ETH at 500$ , DASH at 600$ etc... that's crazy.

my advice is : wait a few weeks/months before buying !

Always read there white paper, there plans and what they have
Achieved already. I also look at there market cap, trading  and
Number of coins in circulation,
If they tick all the boxes for you go for it and invest.
As you know there are a lot of shit coins out there so
Do you homework first.
