It depends on your interest to invest. If you want to invest in altcoins. Better to buy now because the market is red. It's certainly a good moment for us to buy altcoins as much as possible. I myself have some ethereum and I will hold on for a long time.

How can developer make their coin stay alive? They need to spend too much money to create fake volume, otherwise it will get delisted pretty quick. It would be too expensive.

It strictly depends on the choice of your investment but it is advisable to have investment in altcoins so you reap the gain in the future.
