Wow, this is one of the bigger losses I've read about recently.

Buying a hardware wallet was a very smart move, really a shame you never got around to using it..

Wow, that is a very big amount of money mate, but i can not understand how did you make that mistake, you were holding more than $400k and you were not even worried about that. There are so many hackers around big bitcoin holders, and you didnt take care of your security meassures.
I think you diserved this in some point, because you were not aware of this.
But yes, those are big losses for anyone in here.

Of course I'm very sorry for you, because you will not wish this to anyone. I can help something. The only question is why did you store your money on the Electrum purse, and not on Bitcoin Core or Blockchain.info or on the Ledger Nano S? After all, such cold wallets are much safer, are not they?

I bought my first few Bitcoins in 2012; eventually I got around 100 and managed to hold most of them until this point. Yesterday they were stolen from me. Shortly after I made a transaction, I left my PC with Electrum open, I believe there was a key logger waiting for me to type my password as when I returned an hour later, I saw my account had been emptied.

This happened shortly after receiving my hardware wallet (ledger), which I never got round to filling up. Obviously storing £350k(that hurts to type) on my daily computer was a moronic thing to do.

See the transaction here: https://blockchain.info/tx/220caec53bac39cc1a2d2692eecd385bca796fc1a839254ddd622b911344ae97

The Bitcoins were then split and are currently residing at these two addresses:
https://blockchain.info/address/18JCmLzKQoZydXspc6CPwovWVwYtUT7DCx
https://blockchain.info/address/16YiXuw4eaFVvpyhX7mYufwsj77LHrydUx
https://blockchain.info/address/18ZnbD5JQwdEJRwKrb34nXPu7J6pHN1CMR

I know I wont get these Bitcoins back but if anyone knows of a blockchain or malware analysis service or just want to give me advice, I would appreciate it.

Blockchain.info is receiving negative propaganda because is an online wallet but the security measures are strong and IMO is the best option if you are not an expert or you don't want to spend money on a hardware wallet.

We are sorry about your loss but you should have bought a hardware wallet earlier. Why didn't you buy Ledger earlier? Did you forgot about how many bitcoins do you have? We can't do much about keyloggers. There would be no problem if you used a hardware wallet or some anti-malware software which would block such threat.

Sorry for your loss that's a lot, I thought this thread is way back years ago but no it's new. So your bitcoins has been passed through different address and find the 50 bitcoins is on this address https://blockchain.info/address/18ZnbD5JQwdEJRwKrb34nXPu7J6pHN1CMR and the other amount is on this wallet https://blockchain.info/address/16YiXuw4eaFVvpyhX7mYufwsj77LHrydUx it has 44 bitcoin so there are some additions. And that means that your coins are stored and not yet being sold. Why question is that why you had left your electrum wallet open? for sure someone is trying to monitor your PC, better to store your wallet in an offline desktop wallet.

wow tough break and sorry that happened to you.

It is stuff like this that people with a vested interest in seeing BTC fail will jump on. It doesn't happen often but it happens often enough that it is a perceived problem which will be exploited. Finding ways to make the ecosystem more secure in these situations should be important.

That not sweet man, that's surely a lot of bitcoins I never got 90 bitcoins in total but if that will happen to me even just for 1-2 bitcoins that will put me in a nightmare. I'm sorry for your loss man but even how big the reward you'll be doing we know that bitcoin transactions can't be recovered that way unless that hacker will return it to you. You can just simply recover it again if you'll try to earn it somewhere like in trading or any source that's legit which will give you good profit. But still if it will be recovered, I hope it will.

Darn man... that is a brutal lesson.  I'm glad I got my Ledger, feel more at peace with the storage of my crypto and security.  I hope somehow whoever stole them gets caught and you get them back!!!

Thats quite a loss, 95 Bitcoins may be a huge value in upcoming years as the price is still low for the potential of Bitcoin. You should have sent them to Trezor or ledger allot earlier. Hopefully this will be a lesson to everyone here.

painful to lose that much btc, of course with a hard effort. I am sorry for the disaster that happened to you. my advice is better you increase the security of your computer so it is not easy to be tracked by irresponsible hackers.
