I could not open the QT Wallet either. Now I'm downloading QT 5.7. I hope that fixes the problem.

However dev, I think you should fix the wallet for W10 users. Nobody likes downloading 900MB program to open a wallet.

Yes, we will certainly fix this error in the wallet, but this will take a few days, for this reason, for now use the wallet with the daemon (simplewallet).

the error seems to be only with windows 10 (I hate windows 10, so I use windows 7)

for now use the daemon with simplewallet, just start the daemon and after synchronized, start the simplewallet, click 'G' to generate a new wallet, enter the wallet password, after that your wallet will be working and the address will appear , copy and paste and start mining.

the wallet does not work on any windows 7,8,10
but neither does your tine demond to download ,,,

you must to wait the blocks get mature, it needs 60 blocks to confirm, i think 2 hours or more, but it's fine, you don't lose your coins, be patient.
