Should you sell altcoins before the fork?

i think the problem with selling is how much you may have lost on your bags. if much then I would not sell and just wait for recovery.

chance is that the new coin will not be worth much money and if you cannot get more than 1-2 btc it is not worth dumping your alts

I think at this time it's to late to sell your coins.

BTC has just increased to much in such short time. Best thing for now would be that you hold your coins.

Remember after bull rally of BTC there was always a bull rally of Altcoins.

I think it really depends on what your personal vision and trading strategy is. If you trade and hold altcoins for the sole purpose of getting more bitcoin, I guess it's better to sell everything (if possible for a profit) for bitcoin. By doing so you won't suffer too much if the altcoin market takes a nose dive. You will also be taking advantage of the bitcoin gold hard fork. What will happen after the the 2X thingy is still a big question mark for me. But if you're really into alts you can decide to keep holding through. I'm personally not doing the latter. I have faith in bitcoin and will holdbitcoin through the two hardforks.

Usually I sell altcoin do not see when there is fork, I sell it depends on price, if the price is good and profitable for me then I will sell it. because my opinion is not all altcoin after fork the price will be high.

Sell that and exchange to bitcoin before the fork loads of money will be given to whats your balance on youre bitcoin wallet better give in to a wallet that supports private keys or has private keys that can import or export wallets coz youll need that after the forks release and i think youll be doing manual claiming to this fork . Well better save up to access the free coins before october 24 a one day gap  for more time to buckled up

What is the point of selling and losing more than 75% of the asset price to get + 5% to your bitcoins? It seems to me that the reason for this market movement is that most market participants do not know how to count.

Believe or not that is the truth, just look at the stock market how many people are invested in the stock market and yet they do not know a thing about it, I know a lot of people that talk to me about the stocks they have and yet they are always losing money even when they have hired managers to do that for them, so many people get into something without knowing what they are getting into.

I think you better sell you Altcoins because fork might cause decrease in the values of all other altcoin because investors sell altcoin and invest in Segwit2x or bitcoin gold. Don't call altcoin as "sh*tcoin" because they are also start like bitcoin and one day they will be rich in their value so it's upto you that which kind of secure coin you chose and invest.

That would greatly depends on whether you are HODL long term or short term. Why would you bother if you are holding it long term. For long term holders, investors will probably buy even more in when altcoin price drop as they believe in the project itself. For short term holders, that would depend if your desired ROI is hit, close to hit or trading at losses. I personally don't think anyone should sell at losses at this point of time (subject to change). If you are quite close to hitting your ROI then cashing out your principal amount might not be a bad idea.

we suggest for everybody no need to sell altcoin before the frok but if you need to more money or you have low money you can sell your altcoin. We have a many dollar so we should not sell any dollar.  we know after fork altcoin price will be a more pump.

You are buying projects because you think they will be a good investment. Good design will still be a good idea whether btc forks or not ... So why would you want to sell them? Leaving it for yourself will be more beneficial.

and you are just lucky if it go back in the same price again because bitcoin price always rise after the fork

Why? There is no reason that is going to change anything for you. There is nothing to worry about at all, but if there was, then it would be a direct BTC thing that you would need to deal with and the alts would be only indirectly affected.

This is not something that selling them for one coin or another is going to fix, it is just going to be a one way or the other thing.

Lot of bitcoin users have been moving to altcoins. The current price dropping has created a panic among the majority of the users and the same has caused people to fear about the upcoming fork. Still I have the trust on growth with altcoins that's are into my wallet.

i prefer not to sell your altcoin because it only max the max limit of the coin and the price of the altcoin doesn't chance so i still prefer not because keep and and wait for the good selling price for you to get the most profitable profit

It is also possible that the price is going to increase after fork, so hodl is not a fail at all.

Don't let yourself or the market conditions dictate your market philosophy, yes a fork might make you some money in the short term, but as you saw it's very likely that something will happen (like the project getting canceled) and that's not something that you can now before hand or forecast. Don't sell the coins just because of the fork but try to focus on what will appreciate in the long term, if one of them will be a hit it will make you a lot of money, and liquidating that holding will essentially zero out your chances of getting there, because you are not invested in them. Many altcoins have a lot of potential, it's mostly about finding which one's and investing at the right time (no easy task I know).
