i suggest dont invest im ICO  unless you strongly know about their coin after do some research about their horsemen, white paper, volume coin etc
I suggest still invest at Bitcoin or maybe ETH

I have invested in some ico and I am still having investment in some of the projects and I do expect good return as I have been having. I read a strong last time on this same altcoins discuss section of a guy that invest in neo during the ico and he got a x1000 returned. He said "I became rich without doing nothing" you have to invest in the right time for you to make good profit and if you investment in the wrong one or scam projects, it will be the worst thing that will ever happened to you. You actually need to study the white paper of most of the ico projects and the people or teams that are behind the project.

However, don't just invest in any ICOs, invest in projects which you believe that they have the potential of making it in the near future. Currently there is too much competition, read and research about project you are willing to invest in.

Not all the ICO are trustable dude. They is many scams been done by the ICO owners and left with the money. This is happening because of the investors not check the white paper release and information about the ICO in the forum escrows handle the token distribution.
You can invest on the long run project's ICO with out any fear since they more about them in the forum and outside bitcoin users.

Are you asking about ICO in general or which token specifically? There's ton and ton of ICO every months so the market is flooded and whale are looking to make a quick buck with some of the popular ICO in a short amount of time. Most ICO won't have a MVP (Minimum Viable Product) yet too. You need to research and then judge from their white paper, team and timeline ultimately.

It really depends on the ICO or the project if they have a good project because even if the ico is an investment but the project is not too good then it is not a good investment overall and to make sure that you will invest in a good project then you need to make sure by doing research and looking for the opinion of the other investor in their thread.

I agree with you . If you do not research ICO projects carefully, you probably will not be able to participate in a potential ICO project and have a lot of bad ICO projects. It is very difficult to find a good ICO project at this time because there are so many new ICO rules

Ico is really good investment depending on the coin you wanna invest with if their white paper or roadmap looking good its a good choice to invest to that coin also you wanna check if the organization doesnt have a potential scamming their investors alot of people falling for ico scams. ico can be both good investment and bad invesment its your choice to invest in ico.

Its a right investment if you did able to hit up the right project but the risk factor on losing money on this kind of investment is quiet high specially now that there are lots of project to choose from which would really make this thing hard even more spotting projects with good potential isnt really an easy task at all and as a wise investor you should really do this routine.

I think it depends on the project that you join ICO.
If project is successful then it becomes a profitable investment. But now you can see price many project after ICO falling down.

Based on the level of sophistication of the question I'm concerned that it might not be the best investment for you. It's like when people ask me if they should invest in stocks, and the type of returns that they should expect. You should really have an advanced learning of the subject, and at a minimum know the difference between utility token, security tokens, advantages of using blockchains over databases, etc. For the the last example you would then be able to differentiate when a blockchain is truly needed for a project, versus when a database would do just as well or better, but the blockchain component is used exclusively for the purpose of raising money.
