i like icos too many posbilities.if you choose correct one its a good investment.
You should, because that is the way to be profitable investing in ICOs. There are a lot of project running their own ICO but you can only choose some because only few of them are legitimate, with proper research you'll be able to spot the right one and make money out from your investment.

ICOs are a good investment because it has a bonus that will boost your money. But not all ICOs are good and have a good purpose. Others make it to rob people who own their Altcoins. The only advisable thing to do is to be careful. Look carefully at your understanding of the people who have fallen out of this invention. Because it can tell you what's true and not to rob you.

Honestly, people's opinions on bitcointalk is probably the worst place to go for advice on if ICOs are worth your time or not...but here's my opinion anyway.
The days of short term flipping for huge gains are really coming to an end. Investing in an ICO that you believe will be successful long term is risky.
...in the end, hasn't it always been better to just get more bitcoin?

Of course investing in long-term ICOs is risky. That's why the profits are so high. The same has been true for VC in the past, which is the traditional form raising money for start-ups. Diversification and utmost care in choosing projects is the key and will be rewarded with larger rewards than any other investment vehicle could offer. Most ICOs will fail, but that just makes it easier to pick successful ones. Granted it takes a large amount of time and effort to do this, but nothing ever comes free. On the other hand, gamblers who ride hypes will just lose their money, so for those people it would've indeed been best to just stick with Bitcoin.

I think it is a good investment since its is already there from the start. Investing through ico is another way to earn bitcoin because as of now bitcoin price is too high thats why investvesting in ico gives the invetor another way to have a higher bitcoin revenue.

A lot of ICOs dump heavily after the sale though... So sometimes being in the game from the very start could turn out not to be the best move.

ICO is a probability game which can either turn positive or negative. I won't say it is an outright bad investment nor a good one but it has the potential to turn your investment into something bigger or even lead to complete loss of fund. If those who invested in Ethereum ICO in 2014 didn't take the chance their investments wouldn't turn to what it is today. Do your research before investing and always be futuristic in your investment.

ICO is not profitable. 95% of tokens after ICO fall in price. If you like the project, it's easier to buy cheaper tokens after the release on the exchange.

There are good and reliable ICO but you have to determine and study first before investing on it because there are some Initial Coin Offering that offer good services but in the end they end up fraud. We better be careful in choosing the right ICO so that we wont end up loosing.

It actually depends on the ICO that you invest in. If the ICO that you are investing in is a successful one then most probably, you will gain profit. However, when the ICO thst you invest in will not succeed, which rarely happens, or is a scam, then you will like lose some of your investments. So when you invest in ICOs, always be careful and know the ICO that you are investing in.

I think, yes, in the projects ICO has laid out good ideas, and looking at the white book, you can understand the quality of the project.

This is not just inaccurate, it's not very useful information either. You are missing a time window, and without that any remark like "at least 2X" is completely meaningless. Do you mean one month? One day? One year? One minute? And you clearly pulled 2X out of nowhere too...

Well it really depends on the ICO itself. It's not something you can judge globaly, a lot of parameters come in play.

ICO is a risky investment. There is only about 1% or even less that will perform better than bitcoin. So unless you are very experience in crypto, it is always that you do not get into ICO as you have no knowledge to determine which ICO is good or bad.

in any form investments, there might be good and there might be bad it is just a matter of thorough research of which of them are legit and true to their purpose, there are so many ICOs popping out some of them are just a copy of any existing successful ICOs. Just look for an ICOS with a unique and credible projects, even ICOs with good marketing and media exposures may end up a bad investment afterwards. There are lots of ICOs there but doing your own research is the first step then join the community for the feedbacks.

I second this. ICOs are extremely difficult to evaluate, especially if you have no experience with investments. Using a small amount of money to "gamble" is fine since it could just work out and has much better chances than playing the lottery or a casino. But it would be an extremely bad idea for someone with no serious experience to put a large amount of money into ICOs.
