Why would you force UPNP to be disabled? You can always turn it off in the client if you want. It's not much trouble to get the miniupnpc libraries either.

I got those but where to put?

What time will the release be? The topic says "in 3 hours" but since it was an edit, the timestamp on it is 11AM. Could we get a solid time?

Yes, because of course, building without upnp support means that you cannot connect to nodes... (sarcasm)

You kids are hilarious.
Why disable it though?  I am not getting whats so difficult about building binaries with it, or building the Qt binaries.  I can build Windows-Qt, Linux-Qt, and both daemons very easily, but it seems OP doesn't want my help.

Well, I guess it's more a matter of: private testing vs. public release intended for end users.

I agree, might as well include it for the public versions.

Personally, I disable upnp on my devices anyways.

^^ I think he thought you meant he was incapable of supplying that information  Wink.

I think he means he's not so incompetent as to not announce the ports and other important information on release, like so many others fail to do.

It was originally 12 hours, as I'm sure some reply titles would indicate. It's actually closer to two hours, currently.

You need to add INCLUDE/LIBS lines for it just like you would any other set of libraries. Look at the *coin-QT.pro and makefile.mingw. Both of them have include paths and lib paths. If you scroll down some in the mingw makefile you'll see ifdef USE_UPNP(in the mingw file).  Both lib and include paths should be the same for UPNP. This means that if it picks up that it should compile with UPNP support, it will add the libs, and paths for libs and include  (just change the 2 directories in the statement to point in the right place) .

For the QT.pro file

MINIUPNPC_INCLUDE_PATH=c:/deps/miniupnpc-1.6
MINIUPNPC_LIB_PATH=c:/deps/miniupnpc-1.6

Those are my paths for elacoin. you'll need to change yours to match your system. Make sure the slashes are unix-style. This applies to the mingw makefile too.

Note: the *coin-qt.pro file does all of the work of the mingw makefile. If you're compiling only the QT client you don't even need to mess with the mingw makefile. That's only for the *coind.exe command line client/daemon(whatever you want to call it)

ugh, anyway sorry thats kinda crunchy. My head isn't all together right now.

Telling us the port and rpcport that the coin runs on will not let people mine the coin early. It's useful so you can make the config file and get the miner command line ready to go.    Wink

I'll volunteer my services as a last resort, as I have no credentials or reputation on these forums and hence no reason for anyone to trust me.

Gldcoin is a scammer and probably the same person as 5qqqqq, I definitely wouldn't trust him.

I said "probably" not "is", I'm only spreading implications.
