I think you only need to use MyEtherWallet for altcoins who use ethereum smart contracts but if not then you have to use another wallet like an NEO wallet or a personal wallet from the coin itself
and about buying LTC, I think it's better for you to choose other altcoins like ethereum or NEO

For Litecoin there is a lots of wallet. But if you choose a hardware wallet that is the better choice. Ledger nano s or trezor  is the best hardware wallet. You can also use desktop and mobile wallet. Litecore is one of them. Litecore is the official wallet of litecoin. I always prefer official wallets. But there is also wallet like exodus and Jaxx. They are also good. You also can choose exchange wallet. But exchange wallets are not so good for security. That's it for litecoin. Many people in this thread said myetherwallet. It's a wrong place to keep your ltc. Cause myetherwallet is based only for ethereum based token. So always verify your self before use something.

Yes . I think Myetherewallet is still much sought after to store altcoins. And I think it's a secure wallet and it's also convenient for the user, so my Myetherewallet is good to use because it has a good reputation and people are trusting this purse to use as a money holder their cents

My friend and I are using IMTONKEN as a wallet for altcoin. This is very safe, but if you want to keep your wallet safe, you should pay attention to many aspects. Don't log in to an unknown website using your phone or computer!

Every alts has there respective wallet that support them , you can talk of Imtoken wallet for erc20 compatible token and some coin in alts are also supported by coinomi wallet which I think is a very good wallet and you need to keep you passphrase very well as that is the secret to the account.

I recommend that you save all of your Altcoin assets at https://www.myetherwallet.com because there is it a good and safe place to store all Altcoin - tokens. I've been using myetherwallet for a long time as a storage for my tokens or coins and still safe. just my opinion for you.

Many people don't have that much bank balance or own asset to spend some extra bucks on the security or something. Are you kidding me? The cost of a wallet is 50-80 dollars. In addition, manufacturers constantly hold promotions and offer discounts. This is a very low price for complete safety.
